The wonderful world of Bujold
Review of Lois McMaster Bujold by
mycatis
Advantages: incredfible writing
Disadvantages: erm none, honestly
Lois McMaster Bujold is, in my opinion, one of the best writers of science fiction around today. She has won many awards, including Nebula's and hugo, some of the higest awards in science fiction writing.
Her most famous series is her Vorkosigan series, which follows the life of Miles Vorkosigan, a dwarfish, manic, brilliant man. The first book begins with his parents meeting each other, in the middle of an intergalactic war, in which they were ... ...he grows up, trying to make a life for himself in a world were strength and military valour are all important and any hint of being a 'mutant' is disgusting to people. Miles is one of the best, funniest, most amazing character ever, he is just so real, you cant help but adore him. You feel you have lived his life with him and that you genuinly know this amazing, brilliant, infuriating little man.
This space opera series is incredible, I've read ...

A Legend Of A Man - The Most Famous Unknown Writer
Review of Richard Matheson by
EVIT
Advantages: Read review
Disadvantages: none
If I say Richard Matheson, usually most people wouldn't recognize the name.... never heard of him, sorry pal (even in book stores!).
If I say instead: The Twilight Zone, I Am Legend, The Incredible Shrinking Man, The Outer Limits, Spielberg's "Duel" etc... perhaps more people would agree they have at least heard of these tv and cinema productions. The man behind it all is Richard Matheson.
As a matter of fact I have started to know Richard Matheson ... ...--------------------------The Man And His Stories--------------------------
Richard Matheson is known as American author and screenwriter, typically of fantasy, horror (terror is a better definition), or science fiction. His career started in the early 50's with the short story "Born of Man and Woman", the tale of a monstrous child chained in its parents' cellar, it was told in the first person as the creature's diary. This appeared in a Sci-fi ...

A Cult Fiction Writer
Review of Chuck Palahniuk by
maroli_gal
Advantages: His books are very engrossing
Disadvantages: Some of his novels are a bit far fetched
Chuck Palahniuk is my most favourite author.I got hooked on to his books after i read his" Fight Club".Then i read his other novels like "Stranger than fiction" and " Haunted ".I loved all his books. The next one on my list is " Lullaby " which i have heard is awesome, in fact quite scary!!!
Some members of the media have labeled him as a "shock writer' because of the nature of his books and the subject he writes about, but thats what makes him different ... ...such as materialism and voilence!!
Chuck Palahniuk is an immigrant American from Ukraine .He was a freelance journalist before he started writing novels. He became very well known after he wrote "Fightclub".It seems Palahniuk used to be a diesel mechanic for a Freight liner and wrote "Fight Club" as part of a "writing group" he attended with his friends.
In most of his books, his characters are people who have got a raw deal out of life and this ...

Jeannie Baker - Genius!
Review of jeannie baker by
MichT
Advantages: Easily accessible for everyone, from non-readers to avid book worms. Inspirational.
Disadvantages: i can't think of any...
...time I picked up a Jeannie Baker book, I must admit I was somewhat flummoxed. However, after taking a while to look through, and especially after looking at her other titles, I was amazed and have been singing her praises ever since. Jeanie Baker works in collage, each book is a collection of impressive collages telling a story, all of which have a very powerful message. These books can make wonderful teaching tools for subjects such as art, history, ... ...words...but if a picture is worth a thousand words, one of Jeannie Baker's collage books must be worth a million. (p.s. NOT AN AUDIO BOOK!...but currently unable to find a way to submit the review without the audio book questions, hence the negative side to a review with 5stars...) ...
