When my daughter was born, there wasn’t much need to any sun protection as it was Christmas time yet as the months past and the sun started to come out more and more, we decided to invest in some.

I purchased these from Amazon and found that they were quite reasonably priced at around £3 which included postage and packaging. These are also available in places like Wilkos and Halfords for a similar price, there are also different sizes available. I think the price is quite competitive when you compare to places like Toys R Us and Mothercare.

You get two shades in a pack, they are plain black and each shade measures around 40 x 45cm, at the time we purchased, our main car was a Vauxhall Zafira and I found that the shades did quite a good job at covering up most of the rear passenger windows. Because the shades are fixed into place with a suction cup, it was easy to adjust the shade depending on the position of the sun or the direction we were travelling, also, as Lauren go that little older, she was able to position herself out of the sun.

The shades are easy to pack away and you can fold them up to a size of around 10 x 11cm meaning they are easy to store, they also come with a handy little bag for you to put them in but I never really did this as I found that it was then just another job I needed to do before I went out in the morning and with a new baby, there was already too many things I needed to do so we tended to leave ours on the window all the time.

The shades lasted me a good couple of years before I stopped using them, I didn’t stop using them because of a problem with the shades however, this was more because my daughter grew older, she didn’t like having her view blocked and just used to pull them off the windows so she could see.

Overall, these did there job, for a few pounds they were definitely worth the money and I would recommend – 5 out of 5 stars from me.

Thanks for reading.
