Handy Tips Apply polish to entire bodywork and complete all other valeting tasks, i.e., ... more
cleaning glass and dressing plastic trim, before finally removing polish to reveal shine. This technique will avoid marking polished paintwork if other tasks are carried out first. Use a suitable 100% cotton cloth to apply polish, i.e. Autoglym Perfect Polishing Cloth. Other cloths with synthetic fibres may cause fine scratching. Apply polish to the cloth, not directly to your vehicle. Spread in large, circular overlapping motions. Before it dries, even out into long straight lines, along the axis of the vehicle. Take care not to apply polish to absorbent surfaces i.e., unpainted plastics and rubber trim. In the event of accidental application, remove polish stains with Autoglym Fast Glass. Use an old toothbrush to loosen dried on stains. Alternatively, use Autoglym Bumper Care to restore and protect original finish. Use Autoglym Super Resin Polish on good condition bright work and other metallic surfaces, i.e., wheels, instead of using a metal polish which may be unnecessarily abrasive. Remember, the topmost layer of your paintwork is the strongest and should be preserved as far as possible. It is better to polish 2-3 times using Autoglym Super Resin Polish to restore the finish than to use an unnecessarily abrasive paint restorer. Caravans Use only on smooth surfaces.

Right, that said, I will give my opinion, that is why we are here. There are a large number of good quality polishes on the market, you find them for sale everywhere, and Autoglym is one of them, it is up there with the best, but it is no better or worse than many many polishes.
The company has a good name for all it's products, and well deserved it is too. In my view, the reason being that because the marketing machine is working well, and the product is sold in such a way as to give out "free" super duper perfect polishing cloths, packs of ten different lotions & potions, and the opportunity to test each & every one of these on your pride & joy. Of course the end result is that you are highly delighted with the stuff, well, you would be! If you put the same amount of effort into buffing with the polish kicking about in your garage, applied with an old pair of Y fronts, you would probably acheive the same result. Right, rant over, back to Autoglym.
The range of products is absolutely vast, and include stuff to clean & polish your wheels, bodywork, vinyl, rubber, leather, glass, and just about every other material there is on a car. Did I say car? Yes - but they also do special packs for motorcycles and coaches & commercial vehicles.
The product we are reviewing here is the Super resin polish, this is a combination of a cleaner, polish, and sealer. It is very easy to use, and is suitable for all finishes including metallic (where there are aluminium chips in the paint) and pearlescent (contains little teardrop shaped pieces of mica) and another type of paint not many people mention. This is Water based paint finishes. WHAT? I hear you say, not on cars matey, well actually they have been using water based paints on cars for quite a few years now. This is the first time I have ever heard of polish being actually being recommended for use on such surfaces.

As for where to buy the stuff, you will find it at all good motor accessory shops, and all the large DIY superstores. The company markets it's products well, and sells a lot of "Packs" containing different polishes, perfect polishing cloths, and all sorts of "special" bottles. You will find the best value for these at car shows and the like, they are always on "special offer". Just bear in mind that you will be buying stuff you will never get round to using.

The website is pretty good, one brilliant secrion is where you can "Ask an expert" This is like a list of FAQs. Pretty damn good. There is also a very helpful section showing you exactly how you should polish your car. I see no reason why I should give you instructions on how to do it wrong, when you can learn from the experts.
Advantages: Produces an amazing, flawless finish that lasts for weeks. Disadvantages: Not for the sloppy car cleaner. Marks black plastic trim quite harshly. Hard to remove if wet.
...of my friend's father recommended AutoGlym products and I spotted some 'Super Resin Polish' on a trip to Halfords. AutoGlym claims on the bottle that it is the polish of choice for Aston Martin, Lagonda, McLaren and Aston Martin... Must be good eh? As soon as I used it for the first time on my car, I was absolutely hooked. It really is unbelievable how good the paintwork of the car comes out after you buff the polish off and it's also hard to believe ... ...smears on for a while. AutoGlym recommend performing other tasks such as cleaning windows while you wait for the polish to dry. I usually start packing away the washing products. Once it's been left for 10 or so minutes, the smeared on polish hardens. Then comes the extremely satisfying part. You need a completely clean and dry soft cloth and I'd recommend a second cloth of the same style for after... You go round the car, wiping off the dried polish. ...

Reviews which might be of interest for "Autoglym Super Resin Polish"
Advantages: Makes your car shine, easy to apply. Disadvantages: More expensive than other brands.
AutoglymSuperResinPolish is a polish for the exterior of your car. It used to only available to people in the car trade, but is now available for the public too. It can be bought in many supermarkets, as well as places like Wilkinsons, Motormania and Halfords. Prices vary between shops, but a 325ml bottle cost me £4.99 in Wilkinsons.
*What does AutoglymSuperResinPolish do?*
It gives a high gloss shine to your car (you can also use it on motorbikes) and cleans and conditions the paintwork. It also protects your car from UV light and other weather conditions and is a combination cleaner, polisher and sealant in one bottle. It can be used safely on all finishes whether metallic, or water-based.
*Directions*
Before using AutoglymSuperResinPolish, you need to wash and thoroughly dry your car. Once dry, put some polish ...
Advantages: Superior shine Disadvantages: Still needs a bit of elbow grease
Autoglym is a car polish that is pretty readily available at all good car shops and in some supermarkets. At a cost of about £2.99 for 375ml it is a bit more expensive than some other leading brands. It is best used in conjunction with its sister product Autoglym Car Shampoo; well that's what it claims on the bottle. I have used various shampoos and can't say that I notice any significant difference when the sister product is used.
As with most polishes it is advisable to wash the car first and dry with a soft cloth. Obviously if you are using this during the summer the dry cloth might easily be omitted. LOL
The product is applied in a circular motion until you have covered about 1.5 square metres. The reason for this is so you can do the whole polish and shine in stages rather than do all the application then all the buffing ...
Advantages: No hard rubbing Disadvantages: None really
Autoglym car care products are among one of the best out there. I've picked this one because I find this particular one extremely good. It really is SUPER.
The packaging in my opinion gives it that upper class look, and if you find a store that has a display, it does look pretty good. Although the price of some of the other products does seem a little expensive compared to other on the market, the Sper ResinPolish is comparable to other polishes. At around the £6.00 mark I think that it's a fair price to pay for such a good quality product.
It's not like other waxes/polishes, that takes hours to do because it's easy on and easy off. The polish itself has the consistency of Cif (you know, the creme cleaner) perhaps slightly thinner. It goes on well and it doesn't take massive amounts to cover a fair sized area. Once you've let it ...
