Autoglym is a car polish that is pretty readily available at all good car shops and in some supermarkets. At a cost of about £2.99 for 375ml it is a bit more expensive than some other leading brands. It is best used in conjunction with its sister product Autoglym Car Shampoo; well that's what it claims on the bottle. I have used various shampoos and can't say that I notice any significant difference when the sister product is used.
As with most polishes it is advisable to wash the car first and dry with a soft cloth. Obviously if you are using this during the summer the dry cloth might easily be omitted. LOL
The product is applied in a circular motion until you have covered about 1.5 square metres. The reason for this is so you can do the whole polish and shine in stages rather than do all the application then all the buffing. Once you have applied enough product to the area, using a very soft clean cloth buff half the area you have just covered with the resin polish. If you repeat this process you will end up with a small area to do once finished application.
The polish uses special emulsifiers and conditioners to clean the dirt and to restore tired looking paintwork. The resins used apparently are of low molecular weight and therefore give exceptional performance and protection. They are also claimed to improved the cosmetic appetence of the vehicle, I'm presuming thats just another way to say giving it a good shine.
The gloss finish gives great protection against a variety of hazards that cars suffer in their journeys, like tar road salt etc. The resin finish also protects against UV light which can dull paintwork pretty quickly if it is not treated with a polish containing UV protection.
The product has a pleasant smell which does not instantly remind me of a polish. I have used this now on 3 occasions and found it to give a pretty good shine. it does say on the bottle that the polish only needs a light buff to remove once applied. I found that it needed a bit more effort than this and also found it difficult to remove every trace of the dust which it tends to leave behind.
It is no doubt a good product, and does give a good shine , the inclusion of the word Super on the bottle certainly gave ME the impression that it was better than in turned out to be. I have used cheaper polishes and probably got just as good a shine, without as much elbow grease involved. Don't get me wrong I'm perfectly willing to spend a bit more time and effort on my car if the results merit it. IN THIS CASE I'M AFFRAID THEY DIDN'T.
If you are prepared to put the effort in you might be satisfied with the results,but you can get just as good a shine elsewhere for cheaper. I still find it hard to remove tar marks even after using this so as for the protection well maybe I didn't use enough. As for the other protection factors I can't really say very much since I haven't notice any real difference. Overall I didn't think this product was particularly anything special apart from it's price.

Advantages: Produces an amazing, flawless finish that lasts for weeks. Disadvantages: Not for the sloppy car cleaner. Marks black plastic trim quite harshly. Hard to remove if wet.
