Avast 6 Antivirus

i have used avast anti-virus/Internet Security 6 for the past year or so now and im going to tell you i am amazed but also disappointed in many ways about this anti-virus for reasons i will explain in this review.

Right lets start with the 'Amazed' parts of this software. As soon as i installed Avast i knew it was going to be easy and reliable by looking at the user interface (UI) which uses only simple colors instead of using a massive heap of other heavy colors so that your computer isn't going to be using all its power and speed placing 150 different colors into one software. The logo basic but very effective with the design of the software being the only orange object it stands out from the rest of the program. This bring us to the Speed of this software which in all honestly not that Bad at all you barely will recognize that the software is running on your computer until the annoying voice "Avast Virus Database Has Been Updated" starts playing with the little pop-up on the right hand side that gets in the way of what your doing because of it covering 1/4 of the right hand side up!.

Right now down to the important part, Virus Detection so far, hhmm let me think, well so far i haven't had many viruses but then again im very careful while browsing the internet but the viruses it did catch was not very serious and with only a rating of middle and low, so if your a careful browser then its going to be great to use; on the other hand my mom and dad which also use this software and also browse the internet and not knowing that many sites are dangerous and contain malware have found problems bumping into more serious viruses that Avast did not detect and malware bytes did, Avast did detect most of what malwarebytes detected but malwarebytes detected at least 2 more than avast did so if your have no idea on what your clicking on or downloading i would use a secondary anti-malware tool thats free like malware bytes so that avast is not alone. the scan takes rather long but then again many anti-viruses do so nothing much to say on that, oohh yes it does not use mych resources while scanning so you can carry on doing what you normally do while its scanning!

Right the 'Disappointed' part, since i have had my 2 year licenses which i have bought genuine off of the avast site about a year ago i have had 6 warnings within 2 days that i have illegal copies of avast anti-virus which started on the 19th September 2011 till today 21st September 2011!! hhmm yes something they may need to sort out here but all you have to do is close the window that pops up saying it and carry on with what ever your doing while still being protected easy but rather annoying... like i said above this paragraph you may need a secondary malware scanner like malwarebytes and hitman pro 3.5 to back up avast when needed both are free. i know i said its good to have a simple colored design but its to simple and needs a little more color to be added to brighten it up a little. speed can vary when the (UI) is opened for some reason the RAM usage jumps from 1,000kb to 60,000kb when opened but like i said it vary's it can be way lower than that most of the time plus its not as bad as many antiviruses which can use 120,000kb up :( *cough* Norton *cough*. The annoying pop-ups with the voice "Your virus database has been updated", wow you can turn them off but its 'Recommended' to leave it on but the women's voice (NO OFFENCE INTENDED) is rather annoying and it sounds like a text to speech robot speaking.

Right so from my overall experience with avast i will recommend this useful antivirus but with secondary scanners and is worth the price - Thanks for reading and if i didnt make any sense sorry i was tired while doing this but i forced myself to write the review for avast. i there's anything i have missed let me know please
