ITs popularly know the be the best free antivirus, and i do agree with it after using it continuously for around 3 years. At that time i was forced to use the software since this was one of the few which supported XP x64 version officially.

Till now the software proves its reliability as one of the best free anti-virus softwares, the pro (paid) versions too remains on the top 10. The striking feature of the antivirus is its customization, it has number of shields which can be configured to your needs; thus will only require limited resources.

Unlike Noton, it uses less RAM and scanning activity is made to stop, it doesn't hinder the performance of the system to the strictest sense.

It supports archive scanning (even .msi files), this has been a standard feature for a long time.

The 4.8 version includes much better reliability by confirming the status of its services. It can't be terminated by a BAT file, if you do it manually it shows a warning. This makes it highly resistant to hackers or viruses which first trigger to end the services of the antivirus. It supports boot time scanning which finishes any viruses in the boot sectors.

the software has a small stability problem, some times at startups, it hangs, the system won't shutdown in that case and you have to forcefully close the system, this was typically in the 4.7 version, i haven't encountered it in the latest version.

The anti virus is known for deleting system files, if they are infected, that is it doesn't have a mechanism to detect system files, this problem, to some extent is eliminated in the pro version where you have an option to 'fix' the infected file.

It was rated at 55% security in PC security test, which is excellent for a free antivirus.
