...The Iomega Jazdrive is a good solution for those who want to exchange dynamic data from one computer to another. The Jazdrive is a fairly quick device. It is not as fast as a harddisk, but certainly quicker than a tape or a CD-ROM. You can use a Jaz disk as a booting device, which gives you the opportunity to work with several operating systems.
Do not use a Jaz-disk as a permanent storage device. The disks are quite expensive and need to be refreshed every two or three year. For permanent data storage a CD is much more suitable. But for dynamically exchanging data a Jaz-drive is very nice.
Disadvantage of the Jaz is its noise. The disk rotates at high speed in the Jaz-player that makes a high rustling sound. If the Jaz is in its standby state it is sometimes not approachable. You have to eject and insert it again to get access...

Advantages: Is good for Macintosh Disadvantages: The price
...The store vinchester of a type works with disk carriers of capacity 1 and 2Gb by a principle of return compatibility. To its lacks it is possible to relate that it expensive and is focused mainly on the professional users (developers of multimedia, poligraf etc.) Also to lacks it is possible to relate impossibility of connection of old drives through USB, though the company and is going to modernize park already of sold disk drives.

Advantages: Fast and quiet Disadvantages: Lack of instructions

I can - all those MP3s, applications and games meant that upgrading from an exisiting 10 GBdrive was essential.
Costing around £80, the Deskstar 120GXP did not come with any fixtures or fitting, leads or indeed, instructions.
If you are au fait with PC upgrades, all very well, if not you may want someone who is to install it for you.
After 'cloning' the data from my 10 GBdrive to the 80 GB Deskstar 120GXP the first thing I noticed is how very quiet the drive is - only the flashing red LED on the front of the PC gives it away.
The drive runs at 7,200 RPM so is considerably faster than old 5,400 RPM drives. You certainly notice the difference - Windows loads faster and games and applications too.
Reviews in magazines have questioned the lifespan of this drive...

What with all the videos and photos I had on my mac, I needed some good back up storage. I was recommended to go for the something in the Lacie range. For me the d2 Quadra 320gb was an excellent choice. It won't lose data the way some of the ones with more
My current USB drive is old & slow and packs a humungous 128Mb so I figured it was time to upgrade. I decided to look at this Verbatim because the price premium was small over a no-name equivalent with the 2Gb version clocking in at just £14.99.
