Advantages: natural ingredients, not tested on animals, smells fabulous Disadvantages: none
...nice!
I had seen Aveda on QVC (yes, OK, I admit it, I do watch QVC!) and thought how good the products looked. However, I had never ordered from QVC before and was not about to start (I didn’t want the postman knowing I watch QVC!), so instead I went to my local House of Fraser counter and bought my first Aveda product from there. My first product I bought was Elixir, a leave in conditioner. Since the first time I used Elixir I have been an ... ...have a sensitive scalp then Aveda products are perfect, as they contain no chemicals. Aveda'a colour shampoo's do not only highlight natural hair colour, they are also great for keeping the colour on chemically coloured hair. They keep the colour looking fresh. My Mum has her hair coloured every six weeks, she uses Camomile in between salon visits and the colour looks as fresh as the day it was coloured a month after it was actually done. The shampoo’s ...

Advantages: Great colour, shine and smell Disadvantages:
This has been my staple shampoo ever since I discovered it about two years ago. I have dyed black hair and I find that using this, even though it's rather expensive, helps me save money on salon visits. My colour lasts an awful lot longer now that I use this. Although Black Malva isn't a hair dyd as such it has natural plant ingredients which reinforce what you might call the cool black tones. Also, because it has no harsh ingredients, it doesn't ...

Advantages: Great colour extending shampoo, helpful for making colour "grab" prior to salon visits! Disadvantages: None really, but quite expensive
...saved hairdressing costs, all the Aveda colour shampoo products are terrific value for money.
UPDATE:
I've had some really useful feedback - thank you!
In response to your comments, the texture of the shampoo is quite glutinous - almost like a gel rather than a liquid shampoo. The smell is wonderful, and lingers on the hair, which is a distinct advantage. It doesn't foam brilliantly (but that could be the local water), and isn't a "cleansing" ... ...there is an odd, organic smell, which is not unpleasant, but does also remind me of paint. In terms of a conditioner, I'm not really much of a fan of Aveda colour products, but as colour products, they are extremely useful, and top up a semi-permanent colour a treat! ...

My mum was using this shampoo and conditioner combination but has short hair and complained that it made it too soft so she kindly donated it to me to try. Having long straight hair I sometimes wish that it had more volume so I was keen to see whether... more
I first encountered Aveda hair products a few years ago when I could not work full time due to ill health and developed an addiction for QVC the shopping channel.
