Having been a fan of Aveda for quite some time using their Eco friendly specialist shampoos I recently tried their Rosemary and Mint Shampoo. In the past I have tried just about every "high Street" shampoo manufactured and found most of them to dry out my scalp making it flake and giving me a snowstorm problem, Aveda does not do this to me. I never buy shampoo from the normal manufacturers any more as I find they all contain mineral oils and petro chemicals.

I purchase from House of Frazer as Aveda's retail network is somewhat limited to mainly beauty salons (usually expensive) and a few carefully selected retail outlets (usually less expensive than the salons) but the product is well worth the effort.

Ingredients are all natural and products are available in different sizes from trial size up to 1 Ltr bottles so no need to waste money on a product which is not suited for your type of hair. I now have so much confidence in the company that I rarely bother with the trial size bottles any more.
A 1 Ltr bottle with a pump dispenser. costs £21.00 and will last myself and my husband for about 18 months of daily hair washing.
The biggest problem is educating the family that they dont need masses of shampoo to achieve the desired result. so not even expensive.
(Yes we are clean people and a little really does go a long way)

The product is thick, creamy with a glorious aroma of peppermint which lasts all day, I can't say exactly how long it will last as I wash my hair every day, but the aroma is still there when I wash my hair the next time. The aroma is not compromised even after drying with the hairdrier. My husband has no problem using this product and says that the minty smell is a clean smell. He sees it as a unisex item unlike some other shampoos we have tried in the past.

A very small amount (about the size of a 5 pence piece for my shoulder length hair) is all that is required to get a good lather, I do lather twice when washing my hair. The Product has a light conditioning formula and is said to prevent damage from the weather and environment. I have found this to be true and recently tested it out for 2 weeks in the rainforest and tropics of South America, with no time for "pampering " I left my conditioners at home and took pot luck. It worked a dream keeping my hair feeling soft, conditioned, looking shiny and healthy and feeling Silky. I did have some bleaching from the sun but my hair did not turn into the usual Sun damaged "straw". Sometimes it was used (with no option) with cold water and once in River water and still achieved the same results. Due to the natural ingredients in this product I had no problem using in these conditions as I was sure it would not damage the local eco system.

Ingredients in the shampoo include Organic Rosemary, Peppermint, Johoba which is seen as a natural sun filter, unnamed Plant Aromas and Natural Plant Oils. This product contains no Petro Chemicals.
The products are not tested on Animals and all of the packaging contains at least 40% post consumer recycled plastics.
The company do encourage recycling of the packaging when the product is finished. I do this via my local Council rubbish collection recycling bags.

I was asked what happens when the product gets into your eyes, well I have never experienced any problems with this so am unable to comment but Aveda do reccommend avoiding contact with eyes, if this product has ever been in my eyes then I didnt notice.
I loved this product and have now been out and purchased the 1 Ltr bottle to add to my collection of "every eventuality" Aveda products.
I use a different one for whatever mood I am in but the results from this one mean it will be a regular used item in my bathroom.

Hi Your op is good - but it is lacks detail and some of the spelling at fault. Should you update this opinion adding additional material and experience with the product, please let me know - ld be only to glad to update my rating. Thanks Heather

Putting a little more information into your op would undoubtedly increase the ratings you get (and get you more community points!). Try adding about when it gets into your eyes, more about the smell and also anything else you can think of at all. Steve

Advantages: Gives colour back - and then some. Totally natural looking.
Disadvantages: Tip: Remember to wear plastic gloves when applying - even though there are no problems with washing it off.
