Aveda's Madder Root Shampoo and Conditioner is wonderful for us red heads who have never dared to attempt to dye their hair in the past due to all the horror stories of red hair turning green when attempts were made to dye it !!!
This temporary colour wash-in removes the hassle of actually dying your hair and then having to constantly go back to the hairdressers to retouch the roots.
The product smells wonderful and as Aveda's reputation is known the world over, you know that you really can't go wrong.
As I have got older my natural red hair has gone slightly dull and recently has lost some of its shine.
I saw Aveda on QVC and as they provide a 30 day money back guarantee I figured I had nothing to lose so I ordered the Madder Root shampoo and conditioner.
This product gives my hair wonderful rich red tones which has added warmth to my face and gives a fantastic shine which makes my hair look healthy again.
I have no hesitation in recommending this to all red heads out there.

A good write up.
I have not tried madder root but It sounds great.
I do use much of the range including: Camomile (For blondes - lightens the hair temporarily and adds great shine), Rosemary and Mint ( no colour but adds shineto any colour of hair),Clove (For Darker hair - darkens my hair a few shades),Blue Malva ( meant for Grey hair but again gives a great shine to any hair) to name a few.
I am a great fan of Aveda so even though I am not a red head perhaps I will try this one too.
Another "Must Have"item in this range is the detoxifying shampoo which removes any build up of Styling products from the hair and leaves it very soft and shiny.

Nicely said, I haven't tried the madder root, generally opt for the clove for my hair colour.
Advantages: natural, no sodium laureth sulphate, yummy ingredients and aromas, post-consumer recyclable packaging Disadvantages: occasionally hard to locate
