This is one of the key brands in my beauty cabinet, who manage to do exactly as they promise.
Take hair detoxifier, for instance. My hair gets greasy quickly, and I sometimes had to wash it every other day, which I found really boring...I tried various other shampoos, from bland Timothei to The Body Shop, medicated Klorane to Panthene, and they all kept leaving the same greasy film behind them.
I bought Hair Detoxifier in House of Fraser, for £8.50, an impulse buy. The packaging is just great; sienna coloured, a kind of thick plastic, ecological and healthy-looking. The shampoo is a beautiful transparent golden colour, and quite liquid. I massage once onto wet hair; when I rinse it, it has become skeaquy clean and shiny. I follow whith an Aveda conditionner, then their volumising tonic or Pure Fume shine spray.
Believe me, my hair looks really great now. It is shiny and soft, doesn't feel loaded with heavy products, and can last three full days without needing a wash.
I find most Aveda products work really well, and do as they promise.
Their eco-friendly image is an added attraction, but I'm a bit suspicious of it ( apparently the Body Shop itself is not as caring as it claims...

Good op. I have tried aveda products but they never seem to leave my hair in good condition. I am very miffed by one of their minty conditioners that I bought, I used it and when my hair had dried it was just awful and felt like it hadn't washed out. Next time I rinsed for extra long, (5minutes under the powerful shower head) and it was still disguisting I had to wash it again with my trusty Nicky Clarke products. H x
Advantages: natural, no sodium laureth sulphate, yummy ingredients and aromas, post-consumer recyclable packaging Disadvantages: occasionally hard to locate
