Well this was yet another freebie from my Aveda lady (I’m getting quite good at hunting them down!) and I had forgotten I had it until we ran out of shampoo the other day. Why is it you only ever realise you have run out of shampoo when you are actually in the shower and soaking wet! Anyway I shouted to Paul to grab this out of the cabinet its only a baby one, 50ml but its got enough in it to last me til my Avon order arrives.
The product ---------------------- The Aveda rosemary shampoo comes in a light green plastic bottle and it has a brown lid which has one of those caps where you just push it down to open. Aveda say it’s a daily shampoo that will add body to fine hair without stripping it or creating a build up. It contains peppermint which is aimed at awakening your senses! The rosemary element is aimed at helping to protect your hair from the environment. This product is specifically for fine to normal hair.
Price -------------- Now I have looked at the website and it costs on there $9.00 for 250ml, I’m not sure what that converts to but I have had a look around and you can buy it on www.hqhair.com for £8.00. I think this is very expensive for a shampoo especially as you can buy an Avon one for 99p! I know they may not be as good but what have Aveda put in theirs…. Little drops of gold?????
Usage ----------- Aveda say to massage on to wet hair then rinse, and to follow with rosemary mint conditioner, well they would say that wouldn’t they!
My experience ---------------------- I love the smell and that is about the most positive thing I can say about it, the mint is so refreshing and reminds me of my grandpa’s garden where he used to grow mint. I applied the product to wet hair as directed and massaged in, I kept massaging and massaging but no lather appeared, now I don’t know about you but I have to have lather to feel like the shampoo’s actually doing something. So I did an old hairdressers trick and added more water, this made no difference and I gave up and rinsed off. My hair felt ok but not refreshed and clean like you normally feel. I spoke to the Aveda lady afterwards who said that most people find they need to do two shampoos to get a good lather. If that’s the case then it would make the shampoo even more expensive as you would get through it twice as fast. I followed the shampoo with my normal Avon conditioner and dried my hair as normal. To be honest with you it appeared no different what’s so ever. Now maybe I’m not giving it a fair review as its not really aimed at my hair type and I hope to be proven wrong. If you ask me paying a premium doesn’t always pay off!
Other useful info --------------------------- The shampoo is available in 50ml, 250ml and 1000ml for you rich people! LOL! Its available to buy at all Aveda stockists for which you can find your nearest one at www.aveda.com

Advantages: Smells great, works well Disadvantages: may not be for people who dont like the smell of rosemary
...since. I had known about Aveda for a few years but had never got round to using it after a bad experience trying their detox tea ( that is to say, it really worked but the taste really put me off their brand for a while ). Even from their few ads though, I managed to absorb the facts that Aveda is a truly committed "green" company who are devoted to natural ingredients and protecting the environment. A line from their website really got me going, ... ...methyl-octine-carbonate? Accentuate your eyes with a coat of tar? " After a think, you probably decide that you wouldn't. And yet that's often what goes into more mainstream products. So you see my kick start into buying their products?
Having said that, their Rosemary and Mint Shampoo is a real gem of a product. The clear bottle simply presents it's liquid contents, not fully clear, a pleasant cream tint. Snap open the top, take a whiff, and it ...

...If you've never tried Aveda products before most of the ingredients used are organically grown and the shampoo's smell of genuine plants not a synthetic perfume smell that you get in most shampoo's. The only thing that might put people off is the price at approx £8.00 a bottle but really a little goes a long way and your bottle should last a long time. ...

...cost- about £9 from the Aveda shop) and prepared to be wowed. Sadly I wasn't. Yes, the shampoo smelled fantastic. Herby and minty and it felt light and gave a good lather. But upon drying it, my hair was limp and heavy and not soft. My hair didn't smell good- it didn't smell of much of anything. I wasn't impressed.
But I kept trying. Continued shampooing with it. Feeling like I was contributing to the earth and all natural things in it but looked ... ...I still have the shampoo but remain not convinced. I support Aveda 100% - perhaps it takes a lot more than all natural to tame my mane. I would like to continue with them but have resorted back to my usual chemical feast of a shampoo. Sorry Mother Earth. ...

While I have had great results with almost all the Aveda products I used I have tp say this one was a miss for me. my experience with the shampoo:
it is a clear shampoo with a light consistency and as it is quite concentrated you only need the smallest amount to get a lather going - although this does make you wonder what chemical's are put into the shampoo - does it really live up to its eco-friendly claims?? Advantages: Very cheap, works well, smells nice enough Disadvantages: None as fantastic as more expensive brands
in tea tree oil and it?s amazing antiseptic properties, as it has helped me in getting rid of spots time and time again, and so hoped that this ingredient would be good for my hair as well as for my face. I was also attracted to this variety as it contains mint extracts, and I loved the cooling sensation that I found this ingredient gave my scalp when I used Aveda?sRosemary and Mintshampoo a few months ago. Since Alberto Balsam is a much cheaper range than Aveda, however, I doubted that it would have quite as good an effect, but I was still willing to give it a go just in case it impressed me.
You use Tea Tree Tingle as you would any other shampoo: lather a blob of it in your hands and rub it into wet hair, then rinse. The bottle?s directions suggest using a ?good size dollop? of the shampoo, but I would recommend using however much ...
Advantages: The smell Disadvantages: What it did to my poor hair
Having read absolutly glowing reviews of all Aveda products I decided I would splash out and buy some of this miracle worker. I went to www.lookfantastic.com where a fellow ciaoer had said the products were available. I also went to www.aveda.com to find out which shampoo would be best for me. I have dull blonde hair and so finally opted for the Camomile Shampoo which was desinged to brighten up blondes. Perfect. I couldn't wait for my shampoo to arrive and I would have hair like TV adverts. And a couple of reviewers said they didn't even need to use a conditioner because their hair was so soft and shiny.
Well, my parcel came and inside was my £7.00, 250ml bottle of magic. The website had thrown in a nice trail size pack of AvedaRosemary and Mintshampoo which was rather nice. Hair-washing time came. I followed the instructions which ...
