This is one of Aveda's original shampoos and, quite possibly still the best. There are several key points which make it something special. Firstly the smell. I like this so much I've had it duplicated as a fragrance in one of their salons! It's really not possible to describe the scent - but do have a sniff before you buy because I do know that not everyone may like it. Secondly, it's great for those of us with sensitivity problems. This is the shampoo I always go back to if I'm having any problems with scalp irritation. It doesn't contain any artificial ingredients or mineral oils, so it's great for anyone who has problems with those ingredients. Thirdly, and perhaps most importantly, it's absolutely great for the hair. I have very delicate hair and this a) doesn't exacerbate damage and b) contains protective elements to help protect against further damage. Like all Aveda products it isn't cheap. It does, however, come in a 50ml trial size so you can check out whether it suits you. The salon size, although initially expensive, can be a real bargain - like many higher-end products you need to use very little so it can actually work out cheaper than something that costs less in the first place. Finally, it's worth mentioning that it makes a great pet shampoo! It's so gentle and non-toxic it won't harm the animal; it helps to get rid of those 'doggy' smells from man's best friend and it may just be the answer to any skin problems they have
