I had been trying to grow my hair for some years, but for some reason it refused to grow past my shoulders. It was also very dry and dull - premature greying had lead me to resort to colouring my hair and because it is particularly fine, I had been having perms for over 20 years, so I needed help.
The gift set contained trial sizes of both Shampure and Sap Moss products, so I got to try them both, the packaging is very simple, but elegant, and it makes the product look expensive and stylish.
The first thing to hit me when I used Shampure was the smell - it smells like no other shampoo I have ever used, very herby, earthy and natural, and it doesn't lather like other shampoos, but the results are amazing, my hair is in better condition than it has ever been and has even grown (half way down my back now, and still growing!)
I have been using Shampure and another Aveda product, Sap Moss, for over three years now. I tend to use Sap Moss when my hair is recently permed or coloured, and then revert back to Shampure which I use every other day, using Sap Moss once a week for a deeper conditioning treatment.
This product is not cheap, the average cost for a litre bottle of either the shampoo or conditioner is around £25, but a litre easily lasts 6 monthsplus - 3 times a week every week (remember I also use another Aveda product with it). I certainly feel that it is value for money and the affect it has had on my hair has been well worth the expense. You can buy it in 250ml size for about £9 and I normally get mine through Lookfantastic.com, although it is available in House of Fraser and you can find stockists on the Aveda.com website.
I would happily recommend this product to anyone thinking of trying it for the first time, I would not consider changing to another brand and now also use other Aveda hair styling and finishing products.
