I got a pack of these dummies free when I bought my Avent microwave steriliser so I'm not sure how much they cost. I have seen them at a glance in Boots and Mothercare and I'm pretty sure they are widely available.

Advantages: clear plastic and last a long time Disadvantages: Sometimes you can find them

The best thing about these dummies (apart from the fact that it gives my boob some breathing space) is that they are not brightly coloured. They are see through plastic which makes the dummy quite discreet on your baby's face. Like I said I find nothing ... ...of a newborns face. This is an added bonus when you have a toddler running around the place wanting to play with a dummy. My little boy doesn't notice it when it's in the bouncy chair or by the side of his brothers Moses basket. I'm sure he would be putting it in his mouth all the time if it were a brighter colour. When I was pregnant with my first son we had decided that w wouldn't give him a dummy. Firstly I hated the fact that they tended to be as big as the babys face that it looked ridiculous and secondly everyone said it would interfere with breastfeeding. Needless to say after a few sleepless nights we thought we would give it a try because I was so tired I was hallucinating. The second time around we used these dummies from the start.

The best thing about these dummies (apart from the fact that it gives my boob some breathing space) is that they are not brightly coloured. They are see through plastic which makes the dummy quite discreet on your baby's face. Like I said I find nothing worse than a huge colourful dummy taking up the whole of a newborns face. This is an added bonus when you have a toddler running around the place wanting to play with a dummy. My little boy doesn't notice it when it's in the bouncy chair or by the side of his brothers Moses basket. I'm sure he would be putting it in his mouth all the time if it were a brighter colour. I have to say that sometimes I can't actually find it because it's blended in with the carpet which can be a pain when you need it quickly.
The teat is a good size and the dummy has holes at the sides to let the air in. They also come with a top that places over the teat which keeps it clean. This is especially useful when you are out and about. I usually have it in my pocket just incase and my coat pocket is full of disgusting things so it's a good job the dummy has this cap. They come in a plastic case too so if you can take them around in that if you remember it's there unlike me.
My first son used his dummy for around three months at which point he found his thumb but the dummy stayed in great condition and there was no wear and tear on the teat. My second son is nearly three months and his is still going strong I just hope he finds his thumb soon because I am fed up of sterilisers. What can I say I'm a lazy mummy (if they exist!)
Over all our experience with these dummies have been great and I would recommend you have a couple in the drawer just incase.
