Up until a few weeks ago I would have never thought that such a small thing that look like it has no point in the world could make so much difference.
I was first introduced to the Avent Milk Powder Dispenser a few weeks ago by my sister. I looked upon it amazed and thought to myself, wow, i've really been missing out.
She told me that she had brought it from Boots for just £3.99. I don’t know what shocked me more, the product or the price.
Before I had an Avent Powder Milk Dispenser ************************************************* When I was out I always made sure I had got clean bottles with me in case James, my youngest ever got hungry. If I was out in town or near the local shop's I knew I didn't have any need to worry about his feeds as I could just pop into Mothercare, Boots or whichever shop was available and grab a carton of ready made formula milk. That was easy, but the more I went out, the more I spent. I know the carton's are cheap enough but to by them everyday can be a bit expensive.
As for going round to visit people, well that was a nightmare. I either made the milk up in bottles and quickly put them in the fridge when I got there which is ok I suppose or I ended up taking the whole tin of milk with me so I could make one when he needed. This is so not what you need when your visiting.lol
My decision ************* After my sister introduced me to the Avent Milk Dispenser I decided that the next time I was out to pick one up. So that what I did.
Life Now I have the Avent Powder Milk Dispenser ***************************************************** Well....what can I say. Heaven springs to mind. I cannot believe I never knew about these before. They are so handy. The perfect way to make up a feed whilst you’re on the go.
Bottles ******* Prepare the bottles as you normally would by filling them with the desired amount of previously cooled boiled water to the amount of scoops you are going to add to you Avent Powder Milk Dispenser. Place the lid and teat onto the bottle and they’re ready to take.
What is it made of? ******************** It is made of very strong plastic. The container itself is clear plastic, I find this helpful as you can see what section of milk has gone and which is left. The lid is also plastic, although (my lid anyway) is a transparent pale blue, they also do it and other colours as well as a transparent pink. A great idea if you have twins, one a girl and one a boy. If they are on different sorts of milk or even different amounts of milk you can separate them by using the colour of the lid.
How can they be washed? **************************** Wash the Avent Milk Dispenser as you would was anything, ensuring all washing up substances have been fully wiped off, once washed place into you sterilizer and hey presto. Ready for the next trip. Due to the hard plastic they are made from they are dishwasher and microwave safe. Although I’ve never actually used it in the microwave.
What the Avent Powder Milk Dispenser Is and Does. ********************************************************
To be honest its a little plastic container with 3 compartments, a lid and..well an attached lid.
Ok, firstly you have the large round container that I’d say is just a bit bigger and rounder than the top of a normal drinking mug and it is roughly a couple of inches deep. Inside are 3 compartments, all a fairly good size.
Secondly, you have the lid. This is a really well designed lid, as it has got a hole in it about the size of a 50pence piece. But to prevent your milk coming out and spilling it has a very clever lid attached to it that clips over the hole for ease of use. When placed onto the container itself, the lid fit onto it perfectly, and does not allow and of the milk in each container to overflow into the next. It is also very air tight and waterproof too so there is no chance of your milk powder getting ruined when our and about.
The Avent Powder Milk Dispenser is very easy to use. Just take off the lid, and add the desired amount of milk powder into each section, as I said there are 3 sections so you can fill as many as you require, but there are enough sections to make up 3 bottles. I have only ever filled my sections up with 7 scoop's of milk powder but I am sure you can fit a bit more into them if need be. I think about 9 scoops would fit into each.

AND BE SURE NOT TO FORGET YOU PREVIOUSLY COOLED BOILED WATER THAT YOU PREPARED IN THE BOTTLES. You milk powder all ready for you journey.
Ease of use when out and about *********************************** Ok, Your out and about and your baby's hungry and wants a feed, Your in the middle of the street. What do you do!
1> Smile and think, Avent!
2> Take one of your bottles with the previously cooled boiled water in and take the lid off
3> Get your Milk Dispenser out and set it directly over one of the compartments of milk ensuring that the hole is not covering any other compartment.
4> Take off the attached lid and tip into you bottle.
5> Shake well and feed that hungry baby.
Reading this might make you think it takes forever but..lol...seriously it doesn't, it takes a matter of seconds.
The Avent Milk Dispenser is not only as good for when you out and about but also great for night time feeds. Just do as normal, fill the bottles, add milk to container and take to bed. No more running up and down the stairs at 3am trying to make a bottle with your eyes still half asleep.

My opinion. ************ Recommended to all parents everywhere. I have got to say this really is one of the best-brought baby feeding items I have brought in a long time. I'm happy, baby's happy and we're all happy thanks to Avent. A very valuable piece of feeding equipment and Definatly with a capital "D" worth the money.

...powder you need into your Avent Powder Dispenser. Leave it. When your baby wants feeding simply tip the pre measured out powder into the bottle and shake. Give to baby. No cooling or heating required.
The dispenser is relatively small and is split into three sections. It is split much like a pie split into thirds. It comes with the bottom peice that you put the powder in and a lid with a spout. Each sections holds about 8oz worth of baby milk powder. ... ...as that. No longer do you have to mess about for an hour making up bottles!
This cost me approximately 3 pounds and is widely available in places such as Boots and Mothercare.
I clean mine with soapy water and put it in my microwave steriliser but I don't do this very often as it only has powder in it - like the containers the powder comes in do and it is airtight.
I don't know if this is dishwasher proof so I have selected no but it only takes ...

Avent produce a plastic pot which has dividers to seperate the pot into 3 compartments to enable you to prepare 3 pre-measured doses of milk powder in separate compartments. When you're ready to feed, just open the spout and pour the powder into the bottle of water. The product comes in a plastic package with a cardboard top stapled on. Instructions are very sparce with no mention of whether you are able to sterilise the item. ... ...It retails at £3.99 in most places I have seen.
The concept is a fantastic concept and at the time of purchase I was unaware of any other brands. After purchase however, I discovered that if the unit gets knocked around, which is likely to happen when it gets carried around in your baby bag, then leakage of contents can occur between the segments. ...old, my mum saw the Avent powder dispenser and thought it was a really good idea. When she gave it me i thought, "another gimic!" Oh how wrong could I be, it was fantastic! Up until this point we had been filling our bottles with cooled boiled water and scooping the milk into it as and when we needed it (this is not fun at 2 in the morning while holding a screaming baby)
***How does it work***
This is a small tub which is divided into 3 compatments ... ...the correct amount of powder. When needed just open the spout and pour the powder into the bottle. Then turn the lid around to the next compartment ready for the next feed. When the dispenser is no longer needed for powder, the dividers can be taken out and it can be used as a pot for food.

The milk powder dispenser is such a clever idea. It is a little tub with 3 compartments and a lid. The lid has a section that opens, and the lid can be twisted round so the opening is above only one of the little compartments at a time.
You prepare your bottles with boiled water, then fill up the powder dispenser with enough for three feeds. Each feed goes in a different compartment.
When you need to use the powder, twist the lid so the opening ... ...the powder from that compartment into the bottle. So simple and so easy - an absolute lifesaver. When I go out, I have the bottles and the powder dispenser. No worries about keeping fridge bottles cold or how to heat up the milk. Using cooled boiled water and the powder dispenser means that the milk is perfect room temperature.
You wash out the dispenser normally and can then sterilise it if you need, by all the regular methods - microwave included.

I was given the Avent Milk Dispenser just after the birth of my son last year. We, as a family, spend a lot of time either in the car or away as our families live at the other end of the country so I really needed a way of doing his bottles safely whilst on the move. Being able to measure out the powder into the 3 compartments before travelling then only having to carry water in the actual bottles made life so much easier. The individual compartments ... ...feed. I found the compartments to be quite secure as long as the lid was on correctly, the spout must be over the top of one of the compartments not over a divider or powder can spill between compartments. We used our dispenser a lot when our son was small, when camping we set up the dispenser and had a flask of hot water made up so when he woke in the night I could make his bottle quickly and easily without having to mess around. ...the milkpowder - so easy and a fantastically simple idea.
They are simple to clean with no places that powder gets stuck in. They seem to be lasting very well so far and look brand new after 2 months of constant use and they've gone through my dishwasher and been manually washed.
The only drawback I can see with these dispensers is the size as you would struggle to get powder in for more than an 7oz bottle but they say they take up to 8oz. The AventMilkPowderDispenser would then be a better buy as you can fit more milk in but it is a seperate unit that would take up more space.
On the plus side they are made to fit in any wide neck bottles not just tommee tippee ones (I use Avent and they fit just fine). They save loads of space in your change bag as it's just the bottle you need no extra cartons or containers. You can save...
