When the sun goes down and the evening approaches, skin needs to be conditioned following exposure to UV light, after lying on those idyllic sun drenched beaches as seen in the holiday advertisements. With adverts and now the thoughts of summer in most people’s minds, appropriate skin protection is all-important, but often forgotten about until the last minute. This year why not be prepared, you never know we might have a nice hot summer for a change!

Aloe Ice Gel is a pale blue, non-greasy gel that is easily absorbed into the skin. It is effective in reducing the burning caused by the sun, whilst combating the dehydration effects from seawater and wind burning. This after sun gel is suitable for use on sensitive skin, but if in doubt, try a little on the skin, like a patch test, before committing yourself to this lotion whilst on holiday. If you react or just do not like it, there is always the Avon money back guarantee!

In general, if exposing skin to the potentially harmful effects of the sun, remember to treat the skin in the evenings and overnight. An after sun lotion is less greasy than a general moisturiser is and the skin will not fry in the oil as it slowly cools. The after sun lotion is formulated to reduce damage to the skin, thus helping to prevent dehydration and peeling of the outer skin. Personally, I like to use the Aloe Gel, when in sunny climates because it cools and moistures without damaging my clothes. I have also found that my skin does not wrinkle either.
One final tip to prevent the skin's dehydration is to drink plenty of water, both during the day and in the evening. You may need to go to the toilet a lot more, but your skin will appreciate that little extra attention and the molecules will keep well hydrated and are less likely to show external signs of premature ageing.
Advantages: cools you down, stops peeling Disadvantages: none
...I buy all the Avon range, well I would wouldn't I with being an Avon Lady, I think I've got all the range.
I always use Avon sun lotion, one because they are cheap and another because I like the products.
One thing I always need is the after sun, I always get a burnt bit trouble is, it never joins up with the other burnt bits. I look like a pepperoni pizza sometimes.
I have started using Aloe vera gel, this is really refreshing.
If you keep it ... ...for £9.00. This is because Avon are celebrating 30 years of Suncare.
The size is 100ml only, it is quite a decent size though, and should last a whole fortnight's holiday if two people were using it.
It comes in a plastic bottle with a flip top lid, it has a yellow lid and the Aloe Gel is a green colour.
Aloe Vera is well know for it's soothing properties.
Using after sun helps to stop your skin from peeling and keeps it moisturised.
It has ...

Advantages: Cooling and soothing. Disadvantages: Slightly sticky!
use sun-tan lotion, I often feel the need for a little TLC for my skin after having spent a day in the sun, even in England. And if I have been burnt, the cooling effect of this lotion works like a charm. While the sting may not go completely. It goes a lot quicker that it would otherwise have done. And don't forget, even if you can't see the sun, you can still get burnt on an overcast day, so be careful and always try to remember to put sunscreen on.
Available from Avon for £4, this comes in a 500ml bottle, so it should last you a while. ...
Advantages: Rubs in easily, lasts well, the green colour makes it easier to apply accurately, rubs in well Disadvantages: None so far!
and the sun milk which Ambre Solaire produce that I've also used in the past with varying degrees of success. I also found there was no significant smell like the faintly medicinal scent of Avon Bronze sun cream which I find lingers unpleasantly on my hands after use.
Rubbing the green cream/milk concoction into the kids skin, the thing I really liked about it was being able to see where I'd applied the cream and where I'd missed which is thanks to the clever green formula. Don't worry though, the green disappears as the cream soaks into the skin so your kids won't look like The Hulk on the beach! The cream rubbed in beautifully and wasn't greasy, which is a major bugbear of mine when using the Avon Bronze cream because I absolutely loathe the feeling of greasy hands so I can imagine how irritating it must be for the kids to have their ...
