After recently Dyeing my hair from a very light Blonde to dark Brown my whole makeup bag has been overhauled! Its fair to say that the Colours that one suited me now look hideous so it was time for a revamp.
As previously being light blonde it was impossible for me to get away with eyeliner. Friends of mine are blonde and they carry it well. For me it just made my eyes look really miniscule and really did not suit the colour of my hair. So after my colour change I was determined to use colours and products I wouldn't normally. I was trawling through my Avon brochure which I am a big fan of (see Lip Gloss review!!) and came across a product called Sleek lines liquid eye liner. The brochure describes it as:
"Smooth, brush-on liquid liner glides on effortlessly without dragging or pulling. Waterproof, budge-proof and long wearing."
This sounded good enough for me, I have never really worn eyeliner and the few times I had it had been a bit of a disaster so I quite happy to give this a try. The eyeliner comes in three shades; Black, Brown and Plum. I decided to opt for the Black.
When the eyeliner arrived I decided to give it a test run. I was due to go out that evening so wanted to check I could use it easily without any mistakes. I was pleasantly surprised.
The eyeliners packaging is navy blue with silver writing. It measures around 3 inches so is a perfect size for handbags and looks just like a felt tip pen. It has a screw on lid and a felt tip style applicator but the applicator is much finer. I found by using this I was able to create a really subtle effect. I had previously used Kohl liner before and found they too heavy and to smudge quite easily. Despite this being a liquid liner it dried extremely quickly and I was able to rub my eyes afterward and not see any smudging. Its also good enough to withstand an 8 hour day at work without re-application and the fine tip means its possible for me to put too much on making me less likely to make mistakes!
All in all I'm really glad I bought this. As I had never used it before I was at first a bit hesitant and also felt it was a bit on the expensive side at £5 however, now I have found a product I can actually use I will be sticking with it. For any eyeliner amateurs out there I would definitely recommend this. I cant leave home without it!
There is not many Avon products I can fault on, but this is one I will definately never use again.
I was first attracted to this particular eyeliner because it was supposed to last eight hours and was a reasonable price. The product came in a nice pencil and cost £4.00.
The first time I tryed it my eyes felt sore, irritable and began to run. I put this down to first time use, so I disregarded the problem symptoms as I came up with this sensible ... ...was worse and my eyes became really sore. I at this point had no idea why It was causing me so much problems, after all I have never had any problems before with eyeliners. I decided to sharpen the pencil, it broke, so I sharpened it again - it broke. Well I proceeded this act till I had a third of the pencil left.
I applied the gel eyeliner again, still the same reaction so I put it in the best place possible - the BIN!
I will never buy this product ...

Advantages: to many to mention Disadvantages: none that comes to mind
When anyone used to say Avon to me I always used to conjure up the image of old ladies with pots of face cream and more mature people selling it. Those days are long gone and as an Avon representative myself (I am only 28) I use a good majority of the products and if you walk into my bathroom the only brand name products you will find are toilet roll, toothpaste and sanitary towels, everything else from shampoo, bubble bath, deodrant sprays, perfume ... ...something for everyone in the Avon Book (which is available from your local representative (if you dont know who that is you can call Avon direct on 0845 345 8444) and they will help, or you can buy direct from them online at www.avon.uk.com)
The range of products include make up, fragrances, toiletries, skincare, jewellery, lingerie, gifts, videos, kids clothing and toys as well as a wellbeing booklet for vitamins and healthcare items.

Advantages: Precision, Long Lasting, Good Price Disadvantages: None
This is a great eyeliner by Avon, and for such a small price - £4.50. Packaging: comes in a small pencil shaped tube, which you twist up at the bottom. At the end of the pencil, it has a coloured band, indicating what coour the eyeliner is. It comes in a black tube, whcih is quite thin, but despite the thinness and size of this tube, it lasts a long time.
Eye Liner: This is quite a soft pencil, but its not to soft to smudge to much, so it's not ... ...look. The liner is quite thin, so it is perfect for lining the inside rim or the top rim. If you cannot apply this to the above eyelid, apply it to the bottom, and if you blink many times, then it will coat on to the underneath lid on the top.
This lasts a long time on the eye and doesn't come off during the day. It is quite easy to remove with soap and water though, so you won't have to mess around with eye irritating make up removers.

Advantages: Easy to apply and reasonable price. Plus a good selection of colours. Disadvantages: em....................................................................................................................
...problem to my friend and Avon representative and she showed me this new product. The Avon colour definition Eye duo.
When I tried it, it was great! No irritating, no sharpening etc. There was a good selection of colours from which you could choose and the eyeliner is 2 in 1. On one side you get the eyeliner and on the other side eyeshadow. Both colours are selected so that they blend and look great together. So you get two for the price of one. ... ...No more worrying about sharpening your eye pencils. It’s suitable for all eyes as far as I am aware and it lasts for a very long time.
I would think this suitable for those with hectic schedules and little time to look good. You can apply it in a few seconds anywhere any time, cause it comes in a very stylish little ‘case’ designed rather like a pen. And if that’s not enough it comes very cheap. I got it as a package deal but individually I think ...

Advantages: great product, cheap, Disadvantages: dont know when its going to run out
...of goodies this time was the Avon Perfect Wear Liquid EyeLiner, which to be honest I was waiting for as my other had ran out and I felt naked without it when going out up town. I just wasn't myself at the thought of not having it on, its a women thing, you men will never understand. Haha.
The Avon Liquid EyeLiner has got to be the best liquid eyeliner I have ever used. I only wear liquid eyeliner when getting tarted up to go up town, its not an everyday essential for me. Other brands I have felt don't just glide on and you need to apply with precision of you could ruin your whole make for the evening as its one of the last things that gets applied and may have to start again.
Coming in a tube of about 6 inches long, when you take the lid of you see a very thin applicator. There are balls in the bottom of the tube so when you shake it...

Advantages: easy to hold Disadvantages: needs a few coats
...I brought this liquid eyeliner pen from avon a few weeks ago now as i was fed up of having to keep sharpening my eyeliner pencil all of the time and thought this would eliminate this which it did as it is a liquid in a bottle rather than a solid pen.
It cost me £6 and is available in two shades, black or brown
The aplicator is very small which is what you want when working on very small areas like your eyes so it is easier to get it in the right places, it is a tad difficult to use as are all liquid eyeliners untill you get used to them and the pen is a nice shape to hold and easy to feel comfortable with.
My disapointment came with the colour though as not a lot of the liquid is present on the small aplicator you dont get a jet black line but more of a charcoal grey so have to re go over the same area to get the jet black...

...Well I lied I didnt actually make it but I wear it!!
As you may have noticed if you have read some of my other ops I am a big fan of Avon. Not only for make-up but my mum also likes the jewellery and gifts! That’s why when I found Avon’s Liquid EyeLiner Pen I was really pleased, as it seemed to me that it would be easier to apply. I have tried eyeliner pencils but I don’t like to use them to do a line at the top of the eyelid just above the eyelashes. I have also tried other liquid eyeliners, but find these very difficult to apply as my hand wobbles and I end up looking rather strange! As the Avon eyeliner was a pen, I thought it would be easier to apply as you can choose how thick you apply it! I am at the moment on my second tube.
