Avon Glycerine with silicone Hand Cream

Advantages: Makes my skin feel nice and soft, a good moisturiser
Disadvantages: Smells horrible... for ages... Feels greasy and sticky, usually a horrible clinical tube

...for a week while her Avon lady went on holiday last month and when Barbara got back she gave her a bag full of Avon products to say thanks. Included in the bag was a tube of Glycerine Hand Cream with Silicone. My mum has to use medicated hand cream as she's got severe excema so she gave me this to use. ...something I've seen in the Avon book but never considered buying it. It just looked, well, cheap. It usually comes in a plain white plasticy tube with a horrible green box on the front, really naff! lol But mine's different. ...with Silicone from my local Avon representative when they were having a sale. I bought mine for ₤1, this cream normally retails for ₤1.99 for a 125ml tube. ...a little dry. Opening the tube is easy; the tube has a screw top lid. I must admit I prefer a flip-top lid as it's easier to close. I squeezed out a small amount into the palm of my hand (blob slightly smaller than a 5p coin). I did notice with this tube that the nozzle of the tube is not recessed like most other brands, its flat and therefore when dispensing the cream no residue is left behind which can 'gunk' or harden up on other creams. ...as an essential. Avon Glycerine Hand Cream with Silicone just can’t compete. I don’t like the smell, for one thing. It comes out in thin white strips like glue (Copydex or something similar), then when you massage it into your hands, it doesn’t seem to absorb very well, it seems there’s a film left on your skin.
