On Monday, I was blessed by the lovely Avon with a free bottle of Advance Techniques Salon Therapy Hydrating Leave in Conditioner (bit of a mouth full eh). So I gave it a go last night. It is a spray bottle, so I wasn't expecting much as I've found a lot of leave in conditioner sprays to sort of stick your hair together so it doesn't flow properly, kind of like hair spray. I tend to use the serum type hair products....with having quite big flyaway hair. The bottle says it is for dry hair....but my hair isn't particularly dry, but hey it was free.
After shampooing and conditioning my hair, I read the side of the bottle expecting it to tell me to spray my hair while it was wet (like usual), but instead you have to dry it fully first and spray it on from root to tip. I don't usually like to put sprays on my hair after I've washed it because it can sometimes make it feel unclean again. But I was pleasantly suprised. The spray gives an even coverage rather than spraying just in one area. At first, it leaves your hair looking/feeling quite wet, but it soaks in quickly,I found after 5mins it had all soaked in, making my hair feel much softer. It had also flattened all my flyaway hairs (which I've got a lot of at the moment because my hair breaks easily.....which is a good thing when you have thick hair, it gets rid of some!lol).
Another thing I noticed is that it has a lovely smell of coconut. It says nothing about this on the bottle so it was a lovely suprise. The smell stayed overnight and I've had comments about it this morning!Even my partner commented on it and that NEVER happens!
I've found that it's lasted a lot longer than other serums I've tried before, that need re-applying a lot. My hair is just as soft and non flyaway as it was when I applied it last night.
The bottle is white in appearance, with black and purple writing (it is part of the salon therapy section of hair products in the Avon book). It has got a spray nossle on the top with a see-through plastic cap. It comes in bottles of 150ml.
Now the price....it usually costs £2.75, but as with most Avon products, they're usually on offer! This is in a 3 for £6 offer at the moment, the last book had it for half price etc. If you buy it from the internet you may find the same offers don't apply (although sometimes they do), so your better off getting hold of a book if you can.Other products available in the salon therapy range (along with a wider range of hair products) include:
Active replenishing mask 3 minute action £4.00
Overnight treatment £4.00
Hot oil treatment £2.50
The ingredients that make up this wonder product are: aqua, cyclmoethicone, polyquaternium37, dimethicone, phenoxyethanol, imidazolidinyl urea, parfum, propylene glycol dicaprylate/dicaprate, prpylene glycol, creatine, peg-150/decyl alcohol/smdi copolymer, ppg-1 trideceth-6, dimethiconol, benzophenone-4, aminomthyl propanol, laminaria digitata, pelvetia canaliculata, methylparaben, propylparaben. Well that just made my eyes hurt and I'm sure some of it is the same stuff!lolYou can find Avon products on www.avonshop.co.uk, this product is found under haircare, advance techniques, then you'll find it in the salon therapy section. I've just had a look at the site, and its 2 for 1 on there, which is a great offer so I eat my words about the book lol. You can also contact Avon on 0845 345 8444 to find out where your nearest rep is, or write to them at Avon Cosmetics Ltd, Earlstrees Road, Corby, Northants NN17 4AZ.
Overall, I think the product is great, I love the smell....I haven't really got anything bad to say about it. I think the price of £2.75 is lower than a lot of similar products...I've spent £10 on some Frizz ease before that doesn't have the desired effect. But having the offers on top of that is great. Even though the bottle says its for dry hair, mine isn't and it hasn't made it greasy...its just made it much softer so I'd recommend it to anyone. And don't be thinking that I am only nice to Avon products because I work for them!lol They have their faults trust me.
My hair is in need of a good condition because I got caught out in the rain and it's damaged to hell, and, our Avon lady brought the latest book last week. I must have a look, especially when it's at such great prices. Good op x Sophie
