I don't really like using air fresheners in my house as I don't really like the chemicals in the air around Harry, I just prefer to open a window to let the fresh air in! But occasionally, especially when the weather is bad and I can't open the windows, it does get a bit stuffy and I need a little something to freshen the place a little bit. I got this in a Christmas present last year, and while I don't usually like Avon products, I was very impressed with this product.
This product is made by Avon and is called Lavender Linen and Room Spray. It is for use both in open rooms and onto linens as well. The products is suitable for being sprayed onto sofas and other linens as it does not stain at all. It's part of the Aromatherapy range, because it contains calming lavender, and is a soothing spray.
The product comes in a clear plastic bottle, with a spray top, and also a clear plasticlid which I've since lost (Harry probably stole it!). It has a rectangular label on the front, with pictures of purple lavender, with Avon Naturals at the top of the label, and the name of it, Lavender Linen and Room Spray, at the bottom. The back of the bottle has usage instructions and ingredients, too many to mention here.
Using the product is very simple. Simply hold out your arm, and press the spray button down a couple of times, as much as is required. I usually stand in the middle of the room and spray 4 times turning around as I do so ensuring the spray is evenly around the room. The nozzle never leaks and it doesn't get clogged up either, so that's a good thing about this product. I smelt the fragrance straight away, it is quite a strong lavender smell but not unpleasantly strong. After 5 or so minutes, the smell had faded a bit but not completely gone. After about 35-40 minutes, I found that I couldn't really smell it anymore so I sprayed it again.
One thing I have noticed is that it doesn't taste so good. No, I didn't drink it, I'm not stupid. But once after spraying it, I had to shout for Harry to stop him running up the stairs, and I got a load of it in my mouth, and to be honest it was foul. Since then, I've made sure I don't spray it near Harry at all, I make sure he's out of the room and then spray and wait a few minutes for it to fully disperse in the air before letting him in. After its dispersed fully, I don't taste it when I talk, but just beware of that before using it near children.
It is a pleasant room spray, which isn't too pungent and strong smelling and is quite a relaxing scent too. You don't need too much of the spray to fragrance your room nicely for a good half and hour or so, and it doesn't stain fabrics either (I have tried it on a white pillowcase and there was no visible stain which is great). It definitely is a restful spray, it leaves me feeling nice and relaxed after I've sprayed it in my rooms in my house.
You can buy this spray for £3.49 a bottle from the Avon website, or from your local Avon lady. The bottle size is 125 ml, I've been using mine for a couple of months now, a few times a day and mine is only 1/4 gone, so its good value and I am sure a bottle will last a long time. There is nothing about allergies on the bottle, so I presume it is safe for use for pretty much anyone (Except young children obviously).
Other fragrances available in this type of product are:
Black Cherry and Nutmeg
Strawberry and Guava
Vanilla and Soy Milk
Coconut and Papaya
Tangering and Aloe
All sprays are £3.49 each on the Avon website, although a current special offers 4 bottles for just £5, a real bargain! Overall, I'd really recommend this as a nice room refresher spray which smells delightful, and does leave you calm and relaxed. It's a fine mist spray which is easy to use, doesn't dribble, and leaves your room smelling lovely. For more information see the Avon website, http://avonshop.co.uk/shop/search.asp.
