Whenever the Avon catalogue comes round a work, my stomach does a little flip. It’s not that I love the products they sell, it’s just that I am a total shopholic and can’t resist a bargain or two! I tend to buy at least one item from each catalogue, and it was about six months ago that I first discovered the little gem that is the Daily Oxygen Facial Cleanser – from this point known as DOFC for short.
The Pure 02 cleanser is part ... ...right back to my trusted Avon brand. It’s one of those products that ‘feels’ expensive when you use it. I feel like I’m treating myself when I lather up in the shower and the packaging colour co-ordinates well with my bathroom. What other incentive does a girl need?

Whenever the Avon catalogue comes round a work, my stomach does a little flip. It’s not that I love the products they sell, it’s just that I am a total shopholic and can’t resist a bargain or two! I tend to buy at least one item from each catalogue, and it was about six months ago that I first discovered the little gem that is the Daily Oxygen Facial Cleanser – from this point known as DOFC for short.
The Pure 02 cleanser is part of the Avon ANEW range, which includes eye care, moisturisers and treatments. I won’t list them all as it would take a very long time, suffice it to say that there is a huge array of different products to suit all skin types and all ages, from hand cream and youth complex to eye cream and facial cleansers.
I have been using DOFC for a while now and despite dalliances with other brands of facial cleanser/wash, I always seem to go right back to my trusted Avon brand. It’s one of those products that ‘feels’ expensive when you use it. I feel like I’m treating myself when I lather up in the shower and the packaging colour co-ordinates well with my bathroom. What other incentive does a girl need?
Packaging ^*^*^^*^*^*^
The DOFC comes in an attractive green tube with ANEW written in silver capitals vertically down the side. Pure 02 is displayed predominantly on the front of the tube, along with the German and French translations. Now if you thought that Pure 02 Daily Oxygen Facial Cleanser was a mouthful, just check out the German equivalent: Sauerstoffregulierendes Gesichtsreingungsgel!
How to use DOFC ^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
This product should be used in the shower or bath, as it needs to be washed off immediately. The first time I used it I squeezed out too much, which is invariably the case with these tube like products. You will only need a small amount, because believe me, the product goes a very long way and lathers up nicely. The DOFC should be used on the face in place of ordinary soap or facial scrub/cleanser. All traces should be washed off to prevent drying the skin too much.
Smell ^*^*^*
The DOFC has a fresh, shower gel (ish) aroma to it, which is really invigorating if used first thing in the morning. It’s an instant wake me up, and makes me feeling alert and thoroughly cleansed. The smell is similar to the other ANEW products, which is inevitable, and its fresh fragrance reminds me of apples, after-shave and limes.
Appearance ^*^*^*^*^*^*^
When the product is squeezed into the palm of your hand it is transparent with a tinge of green similar to the tube itself. Inside the gel are tiny green/blue particles, which are obviously the ‘oxygen’, the blurb on the website calls them ‘hyper-oxygenated water’. These bubble like grains are instantly dissolved into the skin when the product is applied, disappearing magically. Strangely, you cannot feel them as you rub the gel into your skin, they just vanish! I tested this theory out once, while looking in the mirror.
Lather ^*^*^*^
This product lathers up very well, and you really feel like you are giving your face a thorough wash. It is easy to rinse, without leaving any residue and can be used morning and night to cleanse the skin.
Afterwards ^*^*^*^*^*^*
Some products that I use are impressive in the shower, making me feel refreshed and revitalised, but once out of the bath, my skin feels taut and artificial. You do not get this with the DOFC. My skin feels clean and not at all tight, however, I haven’t seen any disappearance of wrinkles which the product claims to treat:
“Skin looks smooth and fine lines are diminished.” (Avon website)
I don’t feel that this is a disadvantage though, as I am dubious about the effectiveness of these wrinkle decreasing products on the market today. A huge price tag is introduced and everyone feels justified in buying it, especially if it is endorsed by some beautiful model, who doesn’t have a line or wrinkle anywhere on her face.
I’m just happy to have found a cheap, effective product that doesn’t dry out my skin, and makes me feel like I am using something really expensive and unique.
Pricing and availability ^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
The DOFC can be bought off your tried and trusted Avon lady or through their website:
www.avonshop.co.uk
for the tidy sum of £2 at the moment as it is on offer. Usual price is £4 for a 125ml tube.
Conclusion ^*^*^*^*^*^*
I am totally in love with this product and have now decided to continue using it without being unfaithful. I am fed up with buying other products which claim one thing, and do another. For once in my life I’ve found a product that works well, and I’m going to stick with it.
Anyway, I’m off to look in this month’s catalogue and see if I can spot any more bargains…
...quite new addition to the Avon catalogue. I’m not normally a very big fan of facial washes and suchlike, I like soap! I like to feel my skin fresh and clean, and I prefer removing my make up with soap and water. I still like to try all things new! Being an Avon Rep I also get the chance to try it before my customers!
I bought this for £1.40 out of the Link, it was then advertised in the Avon brochure for £2, which was a special offer, now ... ...£4.
It looks quite posh when you first get your tube of cleanser. It comes in a pale green cardboard box, and looks quite simple, yet sophisticated. There’s a small panel on the back of the box that gives you the simple directions of use.
“Apply gel to wet hands, rub together well to create foam and massage in until beads dissolve. Rinse well with warm water.”
Next comes opening the box! I’m like a kid at Christmas.
Upon ...

Advantages: Really does give a younger looking skin, inexpensive. Disadvantages: None.
...I normally browse through the Avon catalogue to see what is on offer.
Due to the fact that my skin is not in the best possible shape I decided to go for a cleanser. But not just a normal cleanser - the Avon ANew Pure O2 daily oxygen facial cleanser. I thought it was very well priced at £4 for a 125ml tube but hold on, there is more. The offer available at the time stated that with a purchase of any ANew product Avon would give you a free pampering ... ...that not everyone has an Avon rep in their area. You cannot purchase these goods in the shops but this is easily rectified, as all Avon products can be ordered online on www.avon.uk.com (website navigation is self explanatory).
Do I recommend this product? Definitely - my face now feels 10 years younger than my body (I will keep a look out for a new product that claims to stop ageing of the body). It is a real bargain at £4 which is the full price ...

Oh no, not Flissy the Avon lady again with another Avon op. Well I only write about the products that I use and to be honest this is a new one on me. I am a Clarins girl at heart but since giving up work to look for the Sproglets I don’t feel as justified spending all the money on Clarins when I get Avon stuff virtually free. But having said all this I have always saved the pennies and bought Clarins Cleanser because I found it brilliant for me. ... ...a bargain to boot.
Avon Pure O² Daily Oxygen Facial Cleanser is a new product and was only launched a month ago. I bought it because it was on special offer and thought it was worth a go. What is it like?
Well Avon describes it as “An incredible 2 in 1 cleanser/toner with Avon’s exclusive Energie-Cell system that gives your skin and instant energy boost. Infused with hyper-oxygenated water, this invigorating formula jumpstarts skin’s circulation ...
