Avon Senses Shower Gel
"However you spend your summer, there's a SENSES to suit you"
As some of you may or may not know from reading my other reviews, I am an Avon representative (I've done a review on being one, too) and because of this I've always got my nose in the latest catalogues and am always spending waaayy too much on products I don't need, just because I can get them a little bit cheaper than everybody else (hehe).. One product I decided to try was a shower gel from the senses range, they seemed to be quite popular with my customers so I decided to give it a go myself. I say 'one product', well, this is what I always think but usually get a bit carried away cause they're such bargains. I ordered a few. The flavours I tried were Sunset, Tropics, Lagoon and from the new Summer Collection, I ordered Waterbabe.
Flavours
The flavours the shower gel comes in are:
Lagoon - water fruits and pear, comes in a blue bottle and is advertised as clean and refreshing. I really like this flavour, I agree that it is both clean and refreshing, probably because of the scent, which is a really nice flavour I like to use. I would recommend it.
Mystique - jasmine and rose, comes in a deep pink/red bottle and is advertised as sensual and romantic. Never used this, but am guessing from the fact customers who try it once have bought it again that it must be quite nice.
Reflection - raspberry and orchid, comes in a purple bottle and is advertised as peaceful and soothing.
Oasis - orange and musk, comes in a yellow bottle and is advertised as spicy and uplifting.
Amazon, (for men) - bergamot and peppermint, comes in a deep green bottle
Tropics - passion fruit and mango, comes in a lime coloured bottle and is advertised as stimulating and exotic. I have used this and liked the scent, as well as it feels lovely on my skin when I washed with it. I would recommend it.
Sunset - grapefruit and mandarin, comes in an orange coloured bottle and is advertised as zesty and energising. It is a really good shower gel for a morning shower as I always thinks it wakes me up in the morning.
... and from the new Summer Collection
Beach Party - pineapple and watermelon, comes in a lime coloured bottle and is advertised as fun and enticing.
Water babe - water lily and grapefruit comes in a light blue bottle and is advertised as fresh and uplifting. I am using this shower gel as my main wash at the moment, as it is my favourite of all the flavours I have tried so far (I plan to try most of them). I agree that it is a really fresh shower gel, I think this is because of the lovely scent which smells clean and I always feel fresh after using it. I give this flavour 5/5 and would definitely recommend it.
Sun Goddess - jasmine and sandalwood, comes in an orange bottle and is advertised as warm and radiant.
Lazy Daze - lilac and vanilla, comes in a purple bottle and is advertised as relaxing and serene.
Prices, Where You Can Buy them
The normal price of the Senses shower gels is £3 for 500ml, or £2 for 250ml, which I think is really good and the product is great value for money for this very small price. Even better, though, you can usually find the shower gel on offer, Avon do have quite a lot of offers on, you can usually count on finding some good bargains in the latest catalogues. For example, there is a really good offer on at the moment, in Brochure 14 it is only £1.60 for a 250ml bottle, so you are saving 40p, but EVEN better than this, you also get to choose a free summer collection shower gel when you buy the senses shower gel, so you can get two shower gels for only £1.60, that's only 80p each. You can buy the shower gel by ordering from your local Avon representative, or through the Avon website, www.avon.uk.com, which still has some fantastic offers on it. You can buy the shower gel in either a 250ml bottle or a 500ml bottle. I really think these shower gels are a fantastic bargain, even for their normal prices though, so don't let buying through their website put you off.
General Opinions, What Have Others Said
I have done this in a few of my reviews before, and that is ask my friends and family who have tried the shower gels to tell me what they think of them. The reason I do this is to get a more varied review so people who aren't my age can know what someone their age thinks of the product."My friends from work and I all love the senses shower gels, we all like different flavours, I order Oasis quite a lot, which is probably my favourite, although I like them all" My mum, who buys all her toiletries shopping from me!
"I do like these shower gels, they are refreshing. I've tried Lazy Daze which smells gorge, and I also tried Lagoon which smells clean, just how I want to smell!" my friend, who is 15
"These are OK, I suppose, if you don't want to spend too much money." my sister, 13
So, what do I think of the shower gels. Well, you know the flavours I have tried (Sunset, Tropics, Lagoon and Water babe). I liked them all, to be honest, my favourite being Water babe, and my general thoughts on them are that they are refreshing and cleansing, they are gentle on the skin and I enjoy using them. I think they are really good value for money, aswell, as I've tried other more, expensive shower gels such as ones which come in sets with perfumes etc, costing around £7.00, well, I wouldn't bother with them again. The only shower gels I'll be using for now are the ones from the Avon Senses range.
I would definitely recommend them, and I can't even think of a single disadvantage. There is even a flavour for men so they don't feel left out!
Hope my review has been helpful to you! Please rate accordingly. I think I have covered everything, let me know if you think I've missed anything. Thanks for reading! xxxxxxx
Advantages: great fragrances, cheap Disadvantages: consistency thin
Avon goes all the way back to 1886 when an American Businessman David McConnell thought it would be a good idea to sell perfumes door to door. Originally known as the Calafornian Perfume Company, the company saw the name change in 1939 to Avon and enter the UK in 1959. Today Avon is an extremely reputable and one of the leading beauty brands in the UK market.
We are all familiar with Avon and more than likely most people still get a catalogue pushed ... ...a lot higher than what Avon has to offer, but for the likes of bath products I do like to keep stocked up and use the Avon Senses range.
Relatively new to Avon, probably been in the catalogue for about two years now, the Senses range comprises of shower gel, body scrub, bath foam and hand wash. The used to do a soap bar which was fabulous but was discontinued after a very short time.
The Avon Senses Shower Gel comes in two different sizes 250ml ...

...know I promised no more Avon reviews for a while but I just have to tell you about a new wonderful range coming from Avon. Some people may be aware of the range already as some areas are ahead of others but this stuff won’t be on the website for probably another 3-4 weeks. Anyway enough babbling, let me tell you what I’m going on about.
Avon have decided to launch a fabulous new range of bath and body products called Avon senses. This ... ...far as I am aware avon are trying to get customers to buy their “supermarket toiletries” from avon instead so hence the bargain prices. These by the way are the full price prices and when you see the products in the brochure they will all be on buy one get one free.
Ok lets get on to the different ranges. There are 5 to choose from and avon have chosen fragrances that should suit everyone. I am describing the shower gels when I speak ...

Advantages: Wide variety of products, bargain prices Disadvantages: Only available from Avon
...Despite some people believing that Avon products are only for old women, I have found this just isn’t true. My kids love Avon and so do I, as my Avon lady will prove, as I usually order something from her most months!
One of my favourite ranges of Avon is the Senses range of bathroom products, especially the mandarin variety. I have always loved fruity fragrances and this is one of the best. It is a lovely smell and just the right strength for me. ... ...are all well priced and Avon often have special offers on, which means you can get them even cheaper!
The products don’t seem cheap in quality or packaging though. The lotions are thick and creamy, the shower gels are just the right consistency and the designs used are clear, colourful and modern. I have tried most of the products in the Senses range and want to describe a few of them. I haven’t used many of the antibacterial ones though, because ...

Advantages: Good, cheap shower gel Disadvantages: Have to know a representative
...recently that I started buying Avon products. Before then I thought of Avon as old-fashioned and for grannies. Then one evening I glanced through an Avon catalogue a friend had and realised they had some products I was interested in at very good prices and delivered free to your door.
One of these was this range of shower gels. They're very bright coloured with interesting aromas and are really good value, everyday shower gels.
~~ price ~~
They ... ...Things have moved on though, Avon include 'smell' pages in their catalogues you rub to activate the scent of certain products so you can test some beforehand.
Anyway at £1 they would have to smell pretty awful not to be worth it. Luckily they weren't. The Mandarin is lovely, fruity which makes it refreshing but with a hint of spiciness so you don't just smell of oranges! It's a much more sophisticated scent than a lot of fruit shower gels available. ...

...not give some of the Avon products a go and see if they are any good.
So I purchased this Senses shower gel from my local Avon representative, the Senses range is a fairly new range to Avon, which ranges from shower gels to hand washes. They come in several varieties but the one that I will be reviewing is the Senses Re-charge shower gel, which contains mandarin and spice.
The shower gel itself comes in an orange-topped bottle approx 18cm high, ... ...man called David McConnell created Avon in America in 1886; he was a young salesman who conducted door-to-door sales of cosmetic to women, so that they could browse cosmetics in their own homes. This was called Avon Calling, and this company only materialised because David was initially selling books to women, but he came up with the idea of a free gift when they purchased a book, which was a small vial of perfume. He mixed the perfume himself with ...

AvonSenses Re-charge
Showergel
Mandarin and spice
Being one of the loyal customers of Avon, I was offered a 10% discount and a free delivery as a gift for my birthday, and I decided to make use of them. This can be done very easily by subscribing to the free daily newsletter from Avon and providing your date of birth as well. There was so many great offers in the website when I bought some lovely products, and one of them was AvonSenses Re-charge 500ml, which I paid no more than £1.60 as a part of a mix and match offer. Sensesshowergel is also available in the smaller 250ml size and there are six other scents to choose from: Divine Time, Get Ready, My Moment, Romantic Kiss, Spring Sensation, and On Power for men.
The orange showergel I chose comes in a clear container with a flip-top orange lid. I would say it's more ...
Advantages: Lovely orange scent, reasonably priced. Disadvantages: No moisturising properties.
Review of AvonSenses Recharge ShowerGel
I am reviewing the Mandarin and Spice 250ml version of the showergel.
The product
Packaging, size and price.
SensesShowerGels have been a part of the Avon Bath and shower range for sometime. The Recharge additions to the range are designed to add an invigorating and refreshing element to the products.
The product is presented in a slim clear plastic container with an orange coloured flip top cap. The front of the bottle features the AvonSense Recharge logo in orange and silver and a picture of a slice of mandarin. The main text is in silver. The rear of the bottle has the product information such as description, ingredients and company information in black text on an orange label.
I am reviewing the 250ml size of showergel, it is also available in 500ml. The range does include ...
Advantages: The smell!! Disadvantages: A bit expensive I guess.
I have been ordering form Avon for quite a while now and felt like trying out a new showergel. After browsing through their catalogue for ages I decided to order a bottle of AvonSense Re-charge Mandarin & Spice ShowerGel.
It comes in a 500ml orange bottle in a nice twisty shape with a nice orange cap which flips back. It's got a picture of an orange on the front and the whole bottle just seems really vibrant and refreshing. I felt revitalised before I'd even used it.
As soon as I opened the bottle I was hit by its AMAZING smell!!!! It smells good enough to eat, please don't try to though. It's a nice fresh smell that really helps to wake me up or refresh me on these long hot summer days.
The gel comes put really easily so there's no need to squeeze too hard. It's a nice smooth clear orange liquid which lathers up very easily ...
