Advantages: Exfoliates and Moisturises at the same time Disadvantages: Not much bubbling
Skin So Soft is probably one of Avon's most widely bought and widely known range of bath and skin care products. There are loads of different items you can buy and most of them come in at least 2 of the 4 fragrances on offer - Soft and Sensual, Soft and Fresh, Soft and Renewed or Soft and Firm.
I nearly always go for the Soft and Sensual aroma which is flowery and smells 'pink' which is the colour of the packaging. It always makes ... ...flower petals. Anyway, when I saw this new item but only offered in the Soft and Renewed fragrance I thought I'd give it a try. It cost me £3.50 but was part of a Buy One Get One Free offer so I had another item in this range free.
It's a body wash with a difference. It has two sections to the tube - one side contains the 'cleanser and exfoliating bubbles' and the other contains 'jojoba and nourishing oils'.

I nearly always go for the Soft and Sensual aroma which is flowery and smells 'pink' which is the colour of the packaging. It always makes me feel like I've been in a bath of soft flower petals. Anyway, when I saw this new item but only offered in the Soft and Renewed fragrance I thought I'd give it a try. The tube is a 200ml size in a white opaque plastic with a pale lilac flip-top lid. The Skin So Soft 'badge' is in purple and lilac and there's a pale lilac swirl on it too. On the back it says 'leave your skin touchably soft with unique dual formula exfoliating body was with jojoba oil. TO USE: apply, lather and rinse. This is repeated in 14 different languages and is ended with the list of ingredients and the little sign that says it has a life-expectancy of 12 months.
When I first used it I thought it would be more 'firm' than it was and gave the tube a squeeze a little more than was needed. The actual body wash was softer that I expected and the exfoliating grains were not rough. I massaged it only my body and didn't get bubbles or a lather as I'd expected. The exfoliating beads were definitely there - they weren't any harder than any other brand of exfoliating body wash I've tried and they didn't dissolve like some do. After massaging for about a whole minute I finally started to see some lather appearing but not much. This was quite disappointing. I associate good cleansing and moisturizing with bubbles and there just wasn't any.
After rinsing and finishing my shower and drying my skin I have to say that my skin DID feel nice and soft. It also did feel like it has been exfoliated - I noticed that the skin on my legs was definitely looking 'refreshed'. I'm pretty sure that I'll buy this body wash/exfoliator again because I use other items from the Skin So Soft range and am sure that used together the fragrance and the 'technology' will compliment each other.
