My mum had a love of the Avon catalogue a while ago and I ended up with a huge variety of make up and nail polish from the sale. Normally £2.95 each these can be picked up for as little as £1-£1.50 a bottle when on offer. I have also seen them at 3 for £5 so a great offer. Due to changing my nail colour so often a huge range of colours is a great thing to have, this particular brand has 6 colours and at this price it is definately affordable.
At first I wasn't expecting great things from this being so cheap but after trying the make up and it being almost perfect I was more than happy to try out these nail polishes. I tend to change m nail colour every couple of days so staying power is not something I am looking for. Mainly I am looking for a polish that has a bold colour or shimmery dependent on my mood.The bottles are smaller than other brands but for the price it is not a problem. They come in a plain black box with a couple of white highlights so pretty plain as packaging goes. The same rule applies to the bottle, plain, clear glass shows the colour inside and a couple of black highlights make it simple but effective.
The liquid itself found to be a little watery in comparison to other brands I have tried, it also took around 3 coats to cover the nail properly as the colour was very subtle on 3 of the shades I tried. It was pearlescent but as colour goes it couldn't really be seen. I have to say I was a little disappointed as the colour looks pretty strong but when applied it is not at all.Despite not needing staying power I found the varnish chipped after just a day, it was not at all strong enough for my general day to day living. I suppose if you were driving to work, sitting at a desk and driving home again wit not much more in between it would last longer but for the general woman and mother with household duties, children and a multitude of tasks to complete it is definately not suitable.
They are ok to have in a make up case but I wouldn't use them as an everyday polish.
