It is a game for adults or older children with 13 to 14 years of age being a minimum due to the length of time spent in playing and the relative complexity of the rules when compared to games such as Monopoly etc.

Having said that I still recommend this game to anyone interested in strategy. It has a luck element but this is minor when compared to some other stragegy games and during the course of the game luck is normally balanced out to allow skill to take the fore.
The only problem this game has is getting players who are willing to forego their real life for the time required to play.
The game seems expensive initially but I consider it is money well spent. You get a lot in the box and it is a very addictive game.
Advantages: You can play from 2-5 players. Disadvantages: It takes ages
Axis&Allies is an boardgame which is suitable for 2-5 players. You can play it for an half an hour but sometimes it takes like 20 hours. Its an strategy game which is very intensive and pretty complicated!
Its about the 2nd World War. Germany and Japan vs. Russia, USA and the UK. You can play it in teams or 1 on 1. For a boardgame its definetly expensive but its so beautifull and worked out on a perfect way that you definetly get what you should ... ...been playing this game every night from 19:30 till 22:00!
In total it took me and my 4 friends 13 hours to finish one game but it was definetly worth it! I wrote this opinion because I suddenly say Axis&Allies in my closet and I started playing this wonderfull game again! If you like complicated strategy games where you have to use your brains full-time this is definetly the game to have! ...

...this will also apply to Axis and Allies.
Axis and Allies is a game based on World war II. The developer created the game whilst living in France, he had access to the photo libary and his father also served as a light infantry man fighting in the south Pacific. The game is exciting and thrilling and you get great satifaction from kicking the Germans and the Japs behinds.
I don't recommend the board game to my friends but the PC Game. ...

Advantages: Very addictive and historically accurate whilst playable Disadvantages: It takes time to learn the rules and get set up
Axis and Allies is and enthralling game which will take over many hours of your life. This game allows you to become a commander of one of the great powers in the Second World War (Britain, America, USSR, Germany, Japan) and help decide the fate of the world. This game can be played by 2-5 players but is best played by 5. If you enjoy strategic board games like Risk you will like this game. If you are interested in this period of history you will like this game. If you enjoy Risk and are fascinated by the Second World War you will love this game as much as I do. The game gets the balance just right between something which is historically accurate and playable. I thoroughly recommend it. ...

Advantages: REALLY FUN Disadvantages: takes a long time to play
Axis and Allies is a great game for parties, especially if it’s an overnighter. In the game you have to use strategy and team work to defeat the enemy. The game is extremely addicting and it takes a long time to play. Time will fly by, you look at the clock and its 10:00pm the next thing you know it 2:00am so this game tests how well you do with out any sleep. So when you start this game be prepared suggested items needed: lots of mountain dew, lots of pizza, enough room to lay down (if you’re playing on the floor). Here are some more tips: don’t play in the bathroom this can be gross (especially if everybody has been having a lot of mountain dew and pizza!!), don’t play with people who will get delirious from lack of sleep they tend to start throwing things and laughing at dumb jokes, and be sure to have ...

Advantages: Amount of playable pieces, Controlling very powerful armies the way you want to Disadvantages: Cost, Can be hard to know wheather you are playing it correctly
The year is 1942 in the middle of world war 2. Five armies are looking for control the Axis (Germany and Japan) and the Allies (UK, America and Russia) only one can control the world so you can change the result of world war 2. This game is the ultimate in strategy as between 2-5 people can take part either taking control of just one army or the whole of the Allies or Axis. With over 200 pieces included with the game you can tell the action will be frantic (and it is). You take it in turns to place new pieces on the board, move your pieces and attack the enemy. Sounds simple? Well it is not with lots of different ways to attack and move you are spoilt for choice. Each of the countries start with different amounts of money which can be altered as you take over countries belonging to your opponants. Let your allies watch your back ...
