Not just for the boys ... Top Gear
Advantages: Cars, challenges and comedy Disadvantages: Some people are easily offended by Clarkson
...I have only really watched Top Gear over the last 7 or 8 years. Mainly because my fella is a huge fan but I can honestly admit I now look forward to the opening credits on a Sunday night. For those of you that have not had the pleasure of watching it you can find it on BBC 2 on a Sunday evening at 8pm (sometimes 9pm). As you can probably guess its show a motor vehicles (more prominently cars). The shows last for 1 hour and repeats can also be found ... ...frank opinions that has won Top Gear the following it has today. Richard Hammond (Hamster) is the quirky 'good looking' presenter of Top Gear who has also had a number of other presenting jobs on tv on a range of subjects. More recently he was brought to the public's attention after he suffered a life threatening crash at high speed whilst filming for Top Gear. Jame May (Captain Slow) is the eccentric more laid back presenter who tends to take a ...

Child of our time
Advantages: Shows parents the problems they might come accros when bringing up children. It's Interesting. Disadvantages: Series' are a year apart.
...futures. The viewer sees each child going through a series of experiments to show their development. Intelligence tests, self-esteem tests and tests for the parents too. Coupling this is an in-depth showing of; the child’s home life, how each child is brought up, and the parent’s attitudes to parenting. Together a full Scientific and emotional picture is formed of each child.
Each Series, concentrates on an age of a child - the first at birth, the ... ...on Self-esteem, was that a child of any age can easily notice any emotion that you are feeling, how ever hard you try and hide it. One experiment showed the children listening to a tape of an ice-cream recipe read in Italian. The child had to distinguish whether the person talking was happy or sad by holding up a smiley face, or a sad one. When the sad tape was played, one child, whose parents had been going though a rough patch, pushed the happy ...

Striclty Come Dancing - Can You Sit On The Sofa For Two and a Hal
Advantages: Good family entertainment Disadvantages: A bit too long in it's present form, could do with some new dances
...- you're either in the Strictly camp or X-Factor. In our house the girls watch Strictly on BBC 1 and the boys watch X-Factor (ITV)and then we catch up on Sunday with whatever we haven't watched. What's It All About? For those people who have lived in a bubble for the last 6 years, Strictly Come Dancing is a dance competition, where professional dancers are teamed up with celebrities. It is presented by Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly. The celebrities ... ...band and singers. Strictly is also never short of controversy and so there is always something to talk about at tea break on a Mondaye This week that would be Anton Du Beke's careless comment - at the start of the series it was the new judge that was the talk of the town. There is also the live element; we love it when something doesn't go to plan or a mistake is made - it makes the show that bit more exiting. It does keep re-inventing itself slightly, ...

Rogue traders are being watched
Advantages: tries to keep the general public informed Disadvantages: none unless you're a rogue trader of course
...it is about a simple BBC program which brings helpful information to the general public. Although the title may sound as though this show follows some dodgy traders around whilst they go about their business of ripping people off, maybe glorifying them in some way, well let me inform you that is not… in fact it is the complete opposite. * What is it? I hear you ask.
It is a fact based Consumer show which began its life on the BBC channel in ... ...its 7th series It is presented by Matt Allwright, an investigative journalist, and Dan Penteado, a private investigator, who travel around the UK, and even Europe, on a Honda Super Blackbird motorcycle, hoping to give awareness to the general public about the many ’cowboy’ builders/ plumbers/tree surgeons…well almost any conmen out there who are intent on conning the general public, usual the elderly, out of there hard earned cash.
It is a simple ...

Who watches the Watchdog
Advantages: Charlotte and sometimes the intentions are good. Disadvantages: Sloppy research
...actually the broadcasting standards commission. Watchdog must have been subject to complaints to them more times than any other programme I can think of and in my opinion quite rightly so.
The days of Lynn Foulds Wood and her potential deathtraps are long gone. No longer will we see an ironing board that could chop a carrot in half when it was folded or a child’s toy that when the head was pulled off (by Geoff Capes or some other strongman ... ...Still, like the Chesney Hawkes, Watchdog has had its glory days and has fallen from grace. Lets just say that Watchdog is now about as good as Chesney.
The more I watch the programme (which is not that often anymore) the more I think that they are not trying to respond to the communications they receive from their viewers but are rather victimising companies. How often is it the same tour operators, the same car companies and the same old bloody ...
