Eastenders easing off

Advantages: do not know hat to say honesty
Disadvantages: always the same not enough variety, there are so many characters leaving and new one entering,

Eastender, one of the biggest if not the Uk biggest soap opera and it seems that the national cannot get enough of this show.
the thing that bothers we with this soap is that they alway seems to repeat their storyline (am sorry all the eastenders fan) or copy something from another soap.

ok, take this for e.g. in emerdale there was a storyline in which victoria sugden fell in a pond at home farm, eastenders then went and used ...
...down the stairs issues what is really up with that, quite a while back laura was running when she fell down the stairs and died, janine was then arrested for murder, then came max and tanya although tanya didn't die it's pretty much the same thing, even when all the slaters ladies was in the soap you saw all that too.

then again there's hardly any more orginality with these soap, as they are not coming up with anything new and exciting, ... more

Who's who in Eastenders

Advantages: great characters
Disadvantages: too many good ones are leaving

I am a great fan of Eastenders. I watch it every time its on, know the story line and the characters inside out so I think I have enough to write a great (I hope) review. Here I am going to give you a bit about each character and who plays them. There are so many I can see this taking forever Its not going to be completed in just one day so I’m giving you the time and date that I started. Here goes.!! Wendy Richard AKA Pauline Fowler *************************************** ...
...Middlesborough, England as Wendy Emerton. Wendy first joined the screens in the 1960's as Joyce Harker in the TV sitcom " The Newcomers". But it wasn't until she joined the sitcom "Are you being served?" in the 1970's playing a slow-witted sales representative Miss Shirley Brahms that she really found her fame. When the sitcom finished Wendy joined Eastenders playing her part as Pauline Fowler who she has played since 1985 when the very first show ...

Incredibly Depressing Yet Somehow Still Entertaining.

Advantages: Good Characters. Some Good Storylines
Disadvantages: Some Completely Crap storylines.

== My Opinion == This is a show that I love and hate all at the same time. I can find just as many bad things to say about it as I can good ones. I think that the bad points by far outweigh the good ones though. I avoid shows that are constantly negative because I believe what we see and do effects how we feel. This show is quite depressing at most parts and I think its the sort of thing that if you have had a brilliant day, you sit down and turn ...
...will more than likely soon fade. I also have been irritated by recent storyline's and how they have turned out. I especially disliked the story with Ronnie Mitchell and her daughter. I think that they dragged that storyline out way to much. They did it to a point were by the time it had got to the climax. I had thought it would at least eventually turn out good and become more interesting but it didn't. I don't know what they were thinking when they ...

A (Not So) Brief History of Eastenders

Advantages: Fine Acting and Action
Disadvantages: Can be depressing

Can it really be almost twenty years since Eastenders hit our screens? Twenty years of murders, affairs, fights and laughs. I for one remember the first scene as if it were yesterday; Den Watts, Arthur Fowler and Ali Osman kicking down the door of Reg Coxes bed-sit with Den uttering the first words in the BBC Soap, “Cor, stinks in ere”, as they discover Reg dead in his chair. Little could anyone know that this was the beginning of one of the best ...
...countless awards and made stars out of everyone who acted in it. We’ve laughed and cried along with the folk of Albert Square as they lurch from one disaster to the next, we’ve cringed as illicit affair after illicit affair is discovered, and we’ve cheered as the latest ner-do-well is run out of town. But who’s who in Albert Square and how is thingy related to whatsit? Without further ado lets discover the families that contribute to the show. ●The ...

The (Mitchell) Boys Are Back In Town

Advantages: I'm an addict - too many advantages for me to list
Disadvantages: It's on too often - 2 hours a week is a bit too much

"Ello Mum!" ah those welcome words to Peggy Mitchell's ears as she's about to get a thrashing by a thug hired to give her a real scare. For the uneducated in all things Eastenders, the Mitchells have been around for about 15 years. Here's a bit about the Mitchells, past and present and their loves and lives, intermingling some other key characters, also past and present: ~*MITCHELLS*~ Peggy (the matriarch of the Mitchell clan) is played by Barbara ...
...moved to the Square. Initially she was played by another actress (whose name escapes me). Peggy is a tough woman who believes the Mitchells are a force to be reckoned with. She's tongue-lashed many a girlfriend or wife or boyfriend or husband of her children and slapped more than her fair share of characters on the soap. She's a tiny woman but has an amazing presence about her and I'm sure she could shatter glass with her screeching! Many older readers ...

Just incase you are a 'Where have you been?'

Advantages: Really Good Plots
Disadvantages: A little bit miserable and a bit violent.

Storylines like Spaghetti Junction, Characters as deep and unknown as the deepest sea, Scenes as familiar as Monday morning. Yes, this is Eastenders. If you turn the television on at 7:30pm on a Tuesday, Thursday, 8:00pm on a Friday and Monday you will find yourself watching the delightful Eastenders. Created in 1985 it has been a favourite ever since. It opens with it's usual theme tune over an aerial view of the Thames and of the area of London ...
...white letters spelling 'Eastenders' slide down the screen. THE STORY The story is ongoing and continues from the last episode. If you have not watched the show before or are unfamiliar with the characters you will most probably have no clue what is happening however, if you do keep watching it is not too bad and easy to follow as the characters are always changing and discovering new things. The stories very original and have plenty of twists. There ...

An unrealistic but very watchable soap!

Advantages: Very believable characters on the whole, exciting, lots going on, cliffhangers
Disadvantages: Can be unrealistic at times

Eastenders has been run by the BBC since the 19th of February 1985 - a day before my 1st birthday - and it was always a watched programme in my household when I was a child and now I still watch it as an adult. Of the three evening soaps on around that time, it is my probably my favourite. I find Eastenders unrealistic at times whilst very accurate at times. For example, everybody goes to 'the Vic' in the evening - even at the moment whilst the credit crunch is going on! Everybody takes their laundry to the launderette - does nobody have a washing machine in that square?! People are forever going to the 'caff' for a bacon sandwich, cup of tea or a fried breakfast - don't they have their own kitchens to make their own breakfasts in or kettles at their work place?! They all seem to do their shopping at the local convenience store ...

WILL THE MISERY EVER EAST-END

Advantages: Some powerful moments..
Disadvantages: ... that are generally lost in a mire of misery

Having previously sung the relative praises of my favourite soap series Coronation Street, it seemed appropriate to turn my attention to its biggest rival, the BBC1 series, Eastenders. Eastenders was first screened in 1985 and since then has gone on to out-perform its rivals consistently as the most-watched programme on UK terrestrial television. SETTING AND LOCATION As you are undoubtedly aware, Eastenders is set in a fictitious borough of Eastern London called Walford, and tells the ongoing story of the lives of the depressed residents of a traditional east-end square called Albert Square. Rather like Coronation Street, most of the action is filmed and centres around events in the actual square, but from time to time events switch to other locations as the inhabitants go on holiday somewhere. The cast of Eastenders is probably ...

Around the Square

Advantages: Fantasy not fact
Disadvantages: Fantasy not fact

I started watching Eastenders sometime ago when I had little else to do. When I started it was on BBC1, 3 days a week now it?s on 4. Mondays at 8.00 - 8.30 pm, Tuesdays 7.30 - 8.00 pm, Thursday 7.30 - 8.00 pm, Friday 8.00 - 8.30 pm. at 30 minutes a show the programmes are not to long to bore and without adverts just enough time to develop a plot. On Sunday BBC1 the put the best of the weeks shows into 1 long programme. Since I started viewing (after dirty Den left for the 1st time but before he returned recently). The programme has presented the viewer with items of topical interest. Aids, crime and prison, homosexuality, drugs, marriage and relationships, business and enterprise, religion. I was born in the East End of London and thankfully don?t have to live there any longer. The programme is fiction; it does not reflect ...
