"Did they take the plung? (Wanted down under revisited tv)"

~~~Wanted Down Under Revisited~~
Wanted Down Under Revisited is exactly what it says it is.
A chance for the viewers of Wanted Down Under to see if the families we have viewed have managed to stick with their live in Australia or New Zealand.
Basically for Wanted Down Under offers a glimpse of what life down under would offer for families considering emigrating to either Australia or New Zealand.
During this show the families decide on whether they prefer the UK or Australia/New Zealand. The series ends with us not knowing what decision they finally made.
So with Wanted Down Under Revisited we return to see the families and whether they actually decided to stay in Australia/New Zealand and if they did, what they actually thought of their move.
The show first aired in 2008 with presenter Niki Chapman. Each episode last for 1 hour and was first shown on BBC.
Basically the format is quite simple.
The introductions are explained and the families previous show. Generally this takes up a large chunk of the show.
The we get to find out where the family have chosen to stay, what is their lifestyle like and what they have done during the last few years.
During which they must decide once again which fairs better the UK or Australia/New Zealand.
~My opinion:
I do like the revisited programme because the first show ends quite flatly as we don't actually know what happened to the families.
However disappointingly most of the show features recaps from the families first show so its only actually the remaining 10/15 minutes of the show where their current circumstances are shown which for me was a bit short.
It is lovely to see how the families have got over their hurdles especially when someone who didn't want to go has changed their mind now!
But unfortunately not all of the families remain in Austrailia/New Zealand, quite a few decide to go home but its usually when they have a had a personal tragedy or they have been unable to find work.
A lot of the time the kids may have not wanted to move but by this series they have generally settled, as their parents have told them wisely its easier for children to make friends whereas adults are the ones that find it harder.
On some occasions it is quite sad to see that the mums have not really made any friends, some hope to meet other mums at the school however a lot of the kids get the bus or get dropped off so they don't get the chance.
What I also ways like to see is the fact that the kids seem much more energetic and enjoys the outdoors whereas they didn't really get the chance to in the UK.
The one thing I have noticed is that at 70% of the families that are revisited still have not bought their own property, instead they have chosen to rent instead whilst they look for the perfect home. Surprisingly they never really mention any solid reasons why they have not become a homeowner.
The most amusing this I always find is the fact that the families have usually picked up and ozzy twang!
Unfortunately the dreary family stories always play apart with a revisit from past relatives explaining this they have missed out on, even though it always seems like they have been out to see them and had a nice long holiday!
Overall I have enjoyed the show but it is only in its first series. The only thing that lets it down is that too much time is spent recapping the families previous show.
A chance to see if it really worked out. I would recommend this if you have seen the first show. 3/5
    I'm a student - the amount of daytime moving and re-location shows I watch is actually verging on ridiculous. Great review! Sam :-)
