About me :
Pro A chance to see what has happened.
The show follows a couple (who may or may not have children) to Australia or New Zealand, and takes them through all of the necessary things that they will need to consider when they emigrate (if they ever get to make a positive decision such as this after the show has shown them all that there is to see). They get to see a variety of different houses within their budget; what the job market is like; the social life compared to where and how they live now back in the UK, and any other issues such as schools for any children that may also be involved. At the end of each section, they get to take a vote on how they feel life would be for them and whether life at home or abroad according to that particular part of the show is better in either place.
But what is the worst part for them is the 'reality check', when they are shown a DVD of their close family and friends back home sending them a message and how much it would mean to them should they move - but of course, it is always up to them however this can often be the hardest part for a lot of people to see how much they would be missed.
However, I have spent far too much talking about that one when I should be focussing in more on the show that I am meant to be talking about! As already noted, this is one of those that goes back over past people that were on the first show and who have actually taken the plunge following being on it and have moved abroad in order to start a new life. It shows any ups and downs that they may have had, and it goes through what their plans for the future may be.
On the odd occasion, there may have been a couple from the first show who were going to be moving abroad but were not going to be doing so until after a period of time. It may have been because they were waiting for their children to finish a school year before moving them, or they had other things such as a mortgage to finish off paying or other such work comittments. Therefore, this update show may go and visit them again (but in the UK) in order to see if their plans have remained the same or if they have changed at all.
I do enjoy watching this update show, as it shows me that people can do something just like move to the other side of the world and leave their comfort zones behind in order to make a go of things - and appear to have been doing really well in terms of everything that they had ben expecting. It is also good to see how the general lifestyle over there actually is, as this may be something that may persuade another person who is watching it to actually do something about moving if this is something that they have thought about doing for quite some time.
I cannot thoroughly recommend this enough to you, and so if you see it on the TV being advertised then watch it - I am also sure that there are repeats and clips or suchlike on the Internet too!
Thanks for reading!
