“Bum Notes”

published 17/09/2004

Brilliantly funny and violent slapstick

Not for all

The third in the unofficial ‘alternative comedy’ trilogy featuring Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson, following on from the almost forgotten Filthy Rich and Catflap and, of course, the legendary Young Ones. Bottom was a wonderfully grimy creation, a playground of extreme violence and absurd...

It's Hilarious

Only Two Serie's

If you have never heard of bottom you haven't seen good comedy. Origanally made in 1993 and aired on bbc 2 it's legend lives on in vhs form. The bottom crew consist's of mainly two people ritchie (rik mayall) and eddie (ade edmondson) and sometimes dave hedgehog (christopher ryan) and spudgun...

Excruciatingly Violently Funny.

Alas, Tis No More.

Bottom. Created by Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson. Bottom was made from 1991 to 1995 and contained 18 episodes over 3 series. Cast: Richie Richard (Rik Mayall). Richie is a sad, lonely, pathetic, desperate, ill washed with XXXL underpanted (well you get the picture) excuse for a man. But he has...

Anarchic, violent, and hilarious

Doesn't appeal to all tastes

If there's ever been a subject that divides people, it's comedy - what one person loves, another hates, what reduces some people to jelly will leave others stoney faced. Bottom doesn't do anything to change this (hey, I'm not going to try to convince anyone that it's got universal appeal) but I...

Well Written, Well Acted, Great Laugh

Not For Kids!!

Many people have likened Bottom to toilet humour, but it's much more than that, sure you have your knob/fart gags, but there is also underlying incidental gags, that are, very funny, very clever and that most people seemingly miss. The title of this opinion is one of those very gags, ok the line...

“Excellant toilet humour”

published 09/12/2000

Very very amusing

only 18 episodes..

Bottom is ther sort of comedy where you check your brains and 'politcally correct' mind out at the door as the jokes are based mainly on masterbation, beer and 'birds'. Reassuringly cheap (this is BBC2, all their budgets go on the 'arts') . Set mostly in the dingly flat inhibited by Richy Rich...

Absolutely hilarious!!

Not for anyone who is easily scared/offended!!

I love it!!! Richie and Eddie have to be the two most disgusting, revolting, vile flatmates that you'd hate to live next door to. But they are also the funniest. Bottom follows the flatmates as the get up to "mischief" (attacking each other with staplers, frying pans, pencils, poking each other's...

“bottom”

disgustingly funny

getting a bit old now

I used to watch this show when it was first aired on television a long time ago. After that i bought the videos but since then i had forgetton about it until BBC2 brought it back a couple of months ago. The show is about 2 disgustingly perverted ageing men that haven't had any action for a while...

“More Bottom Please”

published 20/01/2001

Hilarious

Not enough series

When Bottom first started in the early 1990's it did not catch my attention straight away. I was never a huge fan of the Young One's or the Comic Strip Presents and didn't think it would be up to much but I have never been more mistaken. This is by far the best work of messers Mayall and...

“Old Wrinkly Bottoms”

Hilarious from start to finish

None!

Since the beginning of time, man has learned to evolve, reporduce, walk, fens for his family, talk, communicate... and get "twotted" in the face with hefty great frying-pans. And it's hilarious! Bottom features two dirty, disgusting batchelors from Hammersmith, played by the excellent Rik Mayall...

What a brilliant comedy this was, and still is. It used to come on BBC 2 at 9pm, but these days it comes on UK Gold. The two main characters Eddie (Adrian Edmondson) and Richie (Rik Mayall) are a brilliant double act. They create such brilliant comedy. You will find them either annoying or love...

“Bottoms Up”

published 27/07/2001

Very Very Funny, Different, Fun

None

If you liked the Young Ones, you will love Bottom. Its stars Adrian Edmondson and Rik Mayall, as Eddie Hitler and Richard Richard, two sad, insane old pervs, who can't get girls, drink too much, have no money and hate each other, (and happen to be cursed with incredibly bad luck.) The shows...

“Bottom is not at the bottom”

published 02/05/2001

It's so funny and well worked.

The end episodes of series 2.

Sadly you don't see much of Bottom any more, it's been relegated to UK Gold, which is a real shame because this really is one of the funniest things on TV. It does however continue to amuse in video form, which I strongly suggest you buy if you ever see one. The 1/2 hour show written and starring...

Rik and Ade

Rik and Ade

This is the latest in a lengthy series of different humour shows as brought to our screens by Ade Edmondson and Rik Mayall. It started with The Young Ones, went on with The Dangerous Brothers from Saturday Night Live (I think), plummeted out of sight with Filthy Rich and Catflap and has finally...

Its funny!

you only get repeats now

This is the type of comedy programme that you'll either love or hate. If you liked 'The young ones' then you will like bottom, as it stars both of the same characters and is also on the same lines of comedy. Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson star as Richie and Eddie, who live together in a flat in...
