The Weakest Link is a quiz show that i have been watching for a while now yet i`m still baffled why the title of the show does not reflect the way the players play the game.The objective of the game is to answer as many questions correctly whilst earning money in the process. This is done by a team of 9 contestants who individually have to answer their allocated questions but at the same time have to look out for the team`s interest. By looking out ... ...each individual is performing when tackling the questions and banking the money.
At the end of each round ruthless Anne-Robinson turns around and

By looking out for the team`s interest the contestants have to monitor how each individual is performing when tackling the questions and banking the money.
At the end of each round ruthless Anne-Robinson turns around and says, "It`s time to vote off .. The Weakest Link". This is where the 9 contestants each write down the name of the person who they feel let the team down.The person with the most votes gets the goodbye nod - Anne Robinson loves this bit; "You are The Weakest Link... Goodbye." Finally, the last two contestants remaining at the end go head-to-head. Each having to answer five questions and the person who answers the most correctly wins all the money, leaving the runner-up empty handed.
Now this is the bit i don`t understand. Whether you answer all your questions correctly, which makes you the stongest link has no relevance at all. You can still be the stongest link and be voted off. Contestants seem to overlook this and instead use a revenge method of voting a person off. They each team up on each other in a subtle and cunning way. Before you know it, the contestant you thought was your good buddy is looking to backstab you by voting you off whether or not you were the weakest link. It`s more like a stategy game where by being too clever can be just as damaging as getting all the questions wrong. Contestants pick up on these things and see you as a threat - pouncing when the time is right.
Anne-Robinson too has a stategy - a stategy to humiliate and embarrass the contestants.She has them begging for mercy if she wanted to she`s that good. Her remarks may leave the contestants all numb and red faced but for the viewers it`s hilarious. It`s what makes the show. To actually see the contestants get spoken to in an abrupt and humiliating manner is quite funny indeed. Even funnier is when the voted off contestants get interviewed. They turn into monsters, the knives come out and their true colours show. It`s like Anne-Robinson sydrome rubbed off on them.
I have to say this is a very entertaining show,full of tense moments, well thought out and very funny. Anne-Robinson is a great presenter who has taken this show forward, making it one of the most popular quiz shows on TV. Such it`s success and popularity that it has branched out to Germany and USA.

As if you didn’t know by now, The weakest Link is a game show fronted by self confessed lush, Anne Robinson. Our Anne was recently voted the worst dressed woman In America by some American guru who writes for some American column in some American publication. I’m not surprised by this actually, because tonight she was wearing ... ...seen walking out of Barratts on the feet of a New Romantic. I’ve been stealing my information from the BBC’s official web site (which doesn’t tell me anything, it just brags about Anne beating Richard and Judy this one time in the ratings) and even the almighty beeb couldn’t tell me how many contestants there are on the programme, but my failing memory guesses that it’s about 8. Advantages: Anne Robinson. Anne Robinson. Anne Robinson. (well, I LIKE Anne Robinson!!) Disadvantages: Not a thing
~ ~ Oh, the ‘mad cabbie’ really does like this game show.
I know that in terms of being innovative, or in breaking any new ground, or even in the amount of prize money that can be won it is vastly overshadowed by the extremely popular “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?”
I also know that its host, the inimitable Anne Robinson, is not everybody’s cup of tea, and in point of fact upsets some people enormously.
~ ~ But not ... ...I’ve always had a “thing” for authoritative women. There you go. I’ve gone and admitted it now! It’s probably the main reason I’ve also put off writing this opinion for such a long time.
Give me a bossy woman and I’m in my element.

The Weakest Link Made by the BBC The Weakest Link is broadcast on BBC2, weeknights at 5.30pm.
The show starts with 9 contestants. The aim of the game is to answer questions to earn money. This is initially done in team form. At the end of each round the statement is said, “It’s time to vote off…The Weakest Link!” At this point the contestants each write down the name of the person they want voting off.
The person with the ... ...The Weakest Link…Goodbye!” (And how many times have you seen that on a T-shirt!! Lol)
Each time a person answers a question correctly they add money to the groups ‘bank’. This is totalled up to a jackpot, which goes to the last one standing.
OK so a pretty simple ‘game’ really. But also very, very successful as the show (And Anne Robinson) is now traumatising America ( Wahoo lol)

Advantages: Sarcasm - very amusing. Disadvantages: Everything else. It's the same old crap re-packaged and sold to us again.
Americans are honestly not used to dripping, insulting, and spiteful sarcasm. It is still a bit “taboo” here – in fact, when I make such commentary to people, many of them look at me with a confused air about them – because they think I’m being serious. Duh. Okay, so some Americans aren’t as witty as our UK friends – I’ll give us that. (In fact, some of the funniest material I’ve read in my lifetime ... ...don’t know, Ciao perhaps?) Anyway…
…I’m just kidding when I say that Anne Robinson is God. (Ani DiFranco is God - get it straight people!) Seriously though, I happen to enjoy Robinson’s brazen, insulting sense of humor – which she assails her contestants with after every round of “The Weakest Link.”

It’s the summer holidays. I’m bored. Very bored. I want to watch the Simpsons but I am a bit early. So I watch programme which – although I didn’t know it – would become one of 2000’s sensations. Called the Weakest Link, I watched with, much amusement as innocent and unsuspecting people are gunned down from the dizzy heights of stardom and fall to earth with a huge bump. And the woman wielding the gun? Miss Anne ... ...black cloak and menacing glasses to become the biggest bitch in TV history. Oh dear…

Looking at BBC2 at the moment (literally) there is a film on. I think this seems to reflect the general image that BBC2 has given the public of itself. Well, if you look more closely at BBC2, at the right time of day, the image transforms. From 5:15 onwards is where it kicks in. The WeakestLink now has a notorious reputation thanks to Anne Robinson and her "you are the weakestlink. Goodbye." - very blunt, and quite comical! The simpsons follow on some days, a classic cartoon comedy. Later in the evenings there is variety. Whether it be gardening programmes with Charlie 'no bra' Dimmock, or Louis Thereux (spelt?!) on a weird weekend with a range of people, from Jimmy Saville to porn stars and swingers! The Friday evening comedy entertainment is solid with Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Red Dwarf (old but a favourite). Other programmes ...

one of those things you have to accept, ha ha. However, the stories lines are always original and you never seem to feel that there is any repetitiveness.
It's not surprising that this cartoon series is so popular. If we all be honest with ourselves, we can all relate to some aspects of The Simpson's lives with our own. OK, I don't eat 16 pork-chops or breakfast, but we all have said or done things that one of the Simpson's do on a regular basis and thats why it is so popular. When we laugh at The Simpson's we are really laughing at the silly mistakes we, human beings, make day in-day out.
I love to site down at 6pm on a Sunday evening with my big roast dinner and watch 2 hours of The Simpson's as I slowly devour the meaty goodness of my dinner, don't we all? I also love to site and watch the WeakestLink on BBC2 at 5.15pm (see my ...

The whole country is currently going crazy over a woman who 12 months ago you wouldn’t have looked twice at. She’s not a sexy symbol (by any means!), not a film star (yet), but may someday hopefully have grand illusions of power (i.e. running the country!).
She is of course Ann Robinson. I know that the Welsh people reading this review will currently be wiping spit from their computer screens, but I promise you that she didn’t mean it, so please forgive her, for the sake of the country!
Not only does she host one of the countries most popular TV shows The WeakestLink, but BBC2 have adopted her, (all be it in computer form) to become their new between programme fill in’s.
In recent weeks we have seen her as a Punk Rocker, with safety pins and studs in her face, as some form of demonic creation from Satan ...
