Middle class unfunny laboured prejudiced pap

Disadvantages: Singularly dismal in all respects

Mind numbingly Godawful was Are You Being Served ... the ultimate in crass and stereotyped formulaic BBC1 sit com ... you know the sort of thing I mean ... the camp one who likes measuring the gents' inside leg ... the young dumb tart who became an old pillar of the community in Albert Square ... the rebellious but dim young assistant who was actually as old as the hills ... young Mr Grace with his "You've all done very well" ... Mrs Slocombe's pussy... ...
...far too bloody much if you ask me, and even if you don't I'll proffer an opinion. Jimmy Perry and David Croft were able to fashion something quite, quite splendid with Dad's Army, but then saw fit to expand their range with dire stuff like this crap and others like It Ain't Alf Ot Mum ... unfunny, repetitive, bland, stereotyped, prejudiced trach which relied for its appeal on the most stretched and tired of formulae ... NO I DO NOT LIKE IT AT ALL. ...

...life in Britain. All the actor are of Asian origin and they take the pee out of themselves in such a way that you will crease up laughing. But why is it relegated to BBC2 it deserves a prime time slot on BBC1 I think they maybe a little scare to air it as such a prominent time in case anyone was offended by it but all the Asian people I know love it and think it is hilarious lets see more of it. ...

A kiss is still a kiss

Advantages: acting, storyline, writing, humor
Disadvantages: Absolutely none

One of the things I love best about being back in the Washington area is that every weekday afternoon and Saturday evening, I get to watch my favorite Britcoms, a selection of the best of British comedy shown for free on public television. There's so many shows that these evenings have introduced me to, but none of them matches "As Time Goes By." At first glance, the show does not have the makings of a hit sitcom. Advantages: Great characters; weird; great catchphrases; hilarious
Disadvantages: Not many people watch it - your mates don't know what you're on about when you scream the catchphrases at them (see title!)
