If you are completing a politics course, BBC Parliament is for you. If you also fancy going to sleep, the same channel works wonders! It shows the major debates from both Houses of Parliament, as well as other programming of a legislative nature.
Regular features include weekly parliamentary questions to the Government departments, and Prime Minister's Question Time in it's regular slot on a Wednesday afternoon. These can be of an informative nature, but can also be very repetitive and slow.
The times that people sit in Parliament can make viewing very awkward. I had to wait till 2340 for a debate one night that was relevant to a course I was doing. Sometimes they continue through to the crack of dawn.
No advert, as it's from the BBC so that's another good thing.
Overall, it can be informative but deadly boring!!
This really most be the biggest waste of licence payers money - can none cable subscribers actually get this channel? If you want to see major changes in british law being listiened to by 3 men and a dog then tune in here! The only good thing that it does is to show you just how hard working your elective representatives in parliament - i dont think. This really is snooze time tv if you cant sleep turn this on you'll be asleep in seconds. Instead ...

I am sorry but this has to be one of the most pointless and useless channels ever to be created on cable/sky! Surely there are not any of you out there that would choose to have this channel so i cant understand why cable providers would think that we want want this in our standard package. Politicians are a total waste of time and if there are people out there who are "sad" enough to want this channel on their tv's then let them pay extra for it ...

The BBC is spending (some would say wasting) hundreds of millions of licence payer's money on 4 digital channels: BBC Choice, BBC Knowledge, BBC News 24 and BBC Parliament. The most worthy, the most dull, and the least viewed is BBC Parliament, but no doubt the governors of the BBC had a good eye for what would appease their ultimate lords and masters (no, not us!) when they set it up. ...Further to the purchase of my freeview digital box for my analogue TV another BBC channel. BBCPARLIAMENT a specialist channel by the beeb formally called the Parliamentary channel to quote the channels editor "BBCParliament is the channel dedicated to detailed coverage of Parliament & Politics". Some of the information that follows is from the website by Wikipedia. Launched 23.September.1998 and owned by the BBC, it has a low audience rating of almost zero (May 2006).

Licence debate ~~
Well as I'm 13 (nearly 14!!!! Lol.) the license doesn't really affect me. Though I do think that it should stay. BBC1 is by far the best channel, it has an excellent website and also has BBC Choice (soon to be turned to BBC3) BBC Knowledge (Soon to be turned to BBC4) BBCParliamentBBC World (You get it abroad. Its just news though. BBC Prime (You get it abroad) Its old BBC comedies and dramas. And BBC News 24, news 24 hours a day. I've seen all of these channels, Prime and World when on holiday and I think they are all worthwhile. Apart from BBCParliament. For gods sake! ...A one of charge for a free view box and free digital tv channels sounds very good doesnt it? I thought so my self and invested in a free veiw box but when i got it home i wasnt very impressed. It picked up all of the channels it said i was ment to recive which were:
