Legislative viewing

Advantages: Parliament in Big-Brother style scenario
Disadvantages: Boring

...are completing a politics course, BBC Parliament is for you. If you also fancy going to sleep, the same channel works wonders! It shows the major debates from both Houses of Parliament, as well as other programming of a legislative nature.

No advert, as it's from the BBC so that's another good thing.

Overall, it can be informative but deadly boring!!

What a waste of channel space

Advantages: Better than counting sheep
Disadvantages: dont get me started

I am sorry but this has to be one of the most pointless and useless channels ever to be created on cable/sky! Surely there are not any of you out there that would choose to have this channel so i cant understand why cable providers would think that we want want this in our standard package. Politicians are a total waste of time and if there are people out there who are "sad" enough to want this channel on their tv's then let them pay extra for it ...

Blah! Blah, Blair!, Blair!, Bore!, Bore!

The BBC is spending (some would say wasting) hundreds of millions of licence payer's money on 4 digital channels: BBC Choice, BBC Knowledge, BBC News 24 and BBC Parliament. The most worthy, the most dull, and the least viewed is BBC Parliament, but no doubt the governors of the BBC had a good eye for what would appease their ultimate lords and masters (no, not us!) when they set it up. Apart from the gladiatorial spectacle of Prime Question Time ...

BBC BORING AKA PARLIAMENT

Advantages: Subtitling, FREE, Often LIVE
Disadvantages: Bordem, no presenters, Repeats repeats

BBC Parliament (BBCP) is a free to air service available on digital, cable and satellite platforms. Its funded by all of us through the license-fee, now you know why it keeps going up every year having to pay for channels that normal people cant get! This channel also includes for hard of hearing people subtilting for the first 3 hours of the House of Commons LIVE, Monday-Friday. BBCP is ok for people who are into politics and like watching politions moan and shout at each in-directly calling them liers. Its ok for the Live programes because you can see new laws being approved. BBCP allows viewers to watch various programes which are as follows: Full live coverage of the House of Commons and there proceedings including PMQ's on Wednesdays, Recorded 'as live' coverage of the House of Lords and Westminster Hall which is ...

BBC Parliament Coverage in an Election Year

Advantages: Good use of materials
Disadvantages: Not available to all

I'm wondering if ( as everyone expects) there is to be a general election this year, will BBC Parliament have to monitor it's coverage to ensure that all parties are covered? As a member of the Liberal Democrats (a Third party based in the United Kingdom) I feel that we do not get a fair right to reply on issues, most famously in the Romsey by-election coverage where we won the seat, the new MP's speech was broadcast and then whilst interviewing the party people about the result, they cut into a result from the London mayoral elections denying the chance for the Lib Dems to respond to a Tory accusation of tactial votes against Labour ...
