Advantages Good mixture of music, good news coverage and entertaining DJs.

Disadvantages Not enough music on The Chris Moyles Show.

I've been a regular listener of BBC Radio 1 for four years now and I love it.

Examples of DJs I've enjoyed listening to include Fearne Cotton, Sara Cox, Jo Whiley, Reggie Yates, Greg James and Scott Mills. I also liked Matt Edmonson when he filled in for Sara Cox while she was on maternity leave. I used to listen to Chris Moyles a lot too but I hardly ever do that anymore because he hardly plays any music on his show (as little as four songs per hour) however he was funny at times, he had good features about his show and I also liked Dominic Byrne, the newsreader of the show.

The radio station has a diverse playlist that changes regularly and it sometimes plays songs that are a few years old. A lot of music played on Radio 1 at the moment is in the current chart.

The things I like beat about Fearne Cotton's show are The New Music Generator (a feature that was carried on from The Request Show when she used to present it with Reggie) and The Live Lounge. Greg's show is very entertaining and he seems to have a different feature on his show every day such as an album chart on Mondays (where he counts down the best selling albums of the moment and plays tracks from them), The Alphabet Game on Tuesdays (where Greg thinks of a category and listeners phone in to thing of a thing that falls into the category and begins with their given letter), The Official Chart Update on a Wednesday, a relationship advisor on a Thursday and Feet Up Friday and The Square on Fridays.

I also like the Entertainment News and Newsbeat programmes on the station. Newsbeat offers a wide coverage of topics such as UK news, international news, health news, entertainment news, sports news (my least favourite of all) and technology news.

The station is good for those aged 13 - 29 and for anyone who likes a good mixture of new music. 4/5.
