Advantages: Plays most games. Disadvantages: Can overheat a bit and blocks PCI slots
I have had this graphics card now for roughly two years. It has been able to run most games that have come out in those years on full settings, excluding very graphics hungry games like Crysis and Grid; but will still play them. The fact that it comes overclocked by BFG was a big selling point for me, as I knew if I tried to do it manually I would probably break it. However, there are some issues with this graphics card. The first fact is that it gets hot. Not ridiculously, but a lot of graphics cards at the same price have much better cooling systems. Number two is the installation of the card. It is very big, and therefore blocks up pci slots, so if you have lots of additional pci cards (for networking or for USB slots) you may be in trouble. With the £80 price tag I think you could easiley get better value for money if you look into ...
(GTX 260)
DirectX 10
New power management enhancements
CUDA parallel processing
GeForce PhysX
Note the Highlighted points above. That will really upset those who spends 399 USD(priced 399$ when my friend boght) just to get the transistors count reduced when compared with lesser priced GTX 280.
My opinion
But PhysX performance is better than GTX 280, in game physics such as vector objects representation and their movements, lightning effects are very well represented.
In terms of appearance this card gives much a sort of a "Beasty" appearance than 9800 GTX. Its appearance is like its ready to take any game thrown to it, set at thier highest quality. But It really doesnt perform so and it explicitely shows that Appearances are deceiving.
Though this card performs good, its not better than its "Big ...

Advantages: Very Fast, Very Powerful, Excellant Support Disadvantages: High Cost
The BFG 7800GTX is a very powerrful card and has costs 140 pounds less than when it was released.
It has more than enough power to play any game currently released at high resolutions with practically everything set on high. In battlefield 2 when set on high with all the options turned up to max at 1680 by 1050 it gets very solid frame rates.
Almost equals the new ATI cards in power but comes at a mjuch lower price, pre overclocked and with a lifetime warranty.
I had problems with the first card i purchased however, upon informing BFG it was quickly replaced with a new working version.
If your looking to upgrade i woudl recommend this card as it is more than powerful enough to handle any games currently around and when it starts to struggle you can just put a second one in. ...
