Who could have thought that at an orange piece of plastic with a rather obnoxious looking blade could create such havoc to the human face?
Judging from some of the opinions on this site many of you apparently have already been exposed to this deadly assassin posing as a disposable razor.
Some of the titles spring to mind like “Don’t Buy These Skin Removers”, “Orange Dealers of Death & Destruction”. “Evil Instruments of Torture” etc
BIC Disposable razors have been around for ages, which is rather surprising due to their lethal nature. This is one product that ought to have a safety warning much like a cigarette packet, with warnings such as “Warning This Product May Severely Alter Your Face” or “Warning Vampires May be Attracted To This Product Due to Its Blood Forming Potential”.
My usual shaving mechanism is the Gillette Sensor and it is something that I have been using for many years. Prior to this I was using the Gillette Contour. Occasionally I may find the need to use these disposable razors due either to my forgetting my regular razor at home on my travels or due to the blades occasionally not being available whilst I am in West Africa.
In one of my previous opinions I had written about Gillette BlueDisposable Razors and how surprisingly good I found them to be. On the recent occasion that I found myself using the BIC Disposable I was optimistic about its potentials and its results since it was similar in characteristics to the Gillette Blue. However I could not have been more wrong in my appraisal.
The BIC Disposable razor is an absolutely horrid mechanism posing as a razor. The tendency for cutting yourself is so great that if you did not you probably deserve a medal in maneuvering skills.
The handle is very short for shaving purposes and does not allow any flexibility of movement.
The single blade is apparently slightly more protruded than other disposable blades and therefore gets rid of the hair by literally removing the skin first.
In order to use this blade without damaging your face, especially the curves on your chin, you must shave with the agility of a ballerina skating over the thinnest of ice surfaces and with the speed of a snail on its evening walk.
If you have the courage to use the same razor for a second time then I might consider giving you the Medal of Honour for Bravery.
Another very negative aspect about these razors is that if you have used them once and they have been exposed to water, if they are left alone for a week or two you will most probably see rust starting to appear on the blade.
At just £1.09 for a pack of 10 razors they are very cheap and for the damage that they do they better had be.
So the only positive aspect about these razors is their price. But then again your pocket gains but your face loses. So you make the choice. I’ve made mine and that is to NEVER EVER BUY THESE AGAIN FOR AS LONG AS A LIVE.

I know what you mean - these are awful - although they do have a slightly more upmarket 'bic' razor that is not so bad (but a little more expensive)! :-) Sarah
