Advantages: Very light and easy to use. Disadvantages: Not heavy duty, pointless on hard floors.
I got the Bissell Quick Wash after spotting it in Tesco for a measly 70 quid. We have been planning to clean our carpets for some time. Bringing up 3 youngsters I shudder to think what lurks under my Shag Pile.
So an impulse buy really, the idea being that hiring a cleaner wouldn't be very satisfying if that tummy bug comes back or my youngest fails his potty training test.
I was quite impressed by how well it locked together with the minimum of assembly required. A Phillips screwdriver and three screws and you are there.
The unit comes with a goodly supply of cleaning fluid, four bottles of carpet shampoo and two bottles of hard floor cleaner. This was a bit annoying as I had bought some extra, it doesn?t state they are included on the box.
Although the unit is intended for carpet cleaning primarily it does come with a hard ...

About 6 months ago I brought a Bissell 6594E vacuum. Thought about getting a dyson but after seeing the price I brought one of these instead. I was a bit unsure when I first saw the Bissell because it's not a manfacturer that I was acquainted with. If like me your wondering about 'Bissells' credentials and heritage here's a bit about the founders of the company, Ana and Melville Bissell.
The story of Bissell
In 1872 and Ana and Melville were running a crockery shop in michigan, USA. The crockery came packed in crates of sawdust and it was Ana's frustration with the sweeping up of that sawdust that caused Melville to invent a carpet cleaner device. The first 'Bissell' factory was opened in 1883. On Melville's death, Anna Bissell took control of the expanding bissell business, becoming one of America's first female corporate ...

Advantages: Works very well on your floors Disadvantages: None noticed
The Bissell ProHeat is a truly wonderful device. We moved into a new house, recently. It was a show home and we were assured that it had been cleaned to a "high standard" by the cleaner who had worked for the developers for nearly 20 years. Well, doubtless she'd turned up every day, but I would be surprised to find out if she had done any cleaning throughout the entire 20 years. The carpet, in short, was decidedly grubby after been walked on by all and sundry for the two years that it had served as a show home.
What to do? Hire a carpet cleaner at £60 to £70 per day (plus the deposit) or buy a carpet cleaning system? We decided to go for the latter option and looked around for a carpet cleaning system.
After looking round and seeing what was available, we decided to plump for the Bissell ProHeat II. It cost is £168.00 from ...

very lightweight, long battery charge, relatively ample capacity, quick and easy maintenance
filter clogs quickly reducing power, filter needs cleaning each use, won't pick up heavier particles, rotating brush accumulates hair and fuzz quikly and is difficult to clean (*)
