I found two, one R reg for £8,000, which the dealer would not negotiate on, and a T reg for £6,750. I was lucky because the company were doing a deal at the time. So, f you hold out, you'll get one at that age for around ... ...think this is because they are mostly used as company cars. However, don't be put of by this fact as BMWs are renowed for their reliability.
The exterior of the car is sleek and sophisticated and presents a very professional look, especially in black. The bumpers are colour coded and the alloys give it that finishing look. The windows are slightly tinted which is always a bonus.

So, f you hold out, you'll get one at that age for around £7,000. However, mileage in all BMWs is quite high. I think this is because they are mostly used as company cars. The interior is material grey which I much prefer to the leather interiors you can have now. The car has airbags on both passenger and driver side, air con, cassette player, electric windows at the front only, and electric mirrors. Although the coupe is only a 2 door, there is a lot of room in the back and the boot is huge. Leg room in the front is adequate even with the seat pulled right foward.
The car handles spectacularly, I have yet to swing the back end out (much to my annoyance, lol). The alloys and traction help this a lot. The power of the car is also pretty good. Considering it's only a 1.6, it does 0 - 60 fairly fast.
The car comes with an alarm and immobiliser as standard which is Category One (lowers you insurance). This is an optional extra, but well worth having.
As for disadvantages, the car uses up a fair amount of petrol and a £60 a tank, it works out quite expensive.
Overall, I would recommend this car to anyone wishing to buy one, although if you have a bit more money to splash out on a BMW, there are better ones out there.
Advantages: Gorgeous, reliable, roomy and screams style!! Disadvantages: I can't drive it yet!!
we bought the bmw after our VW Golf was smashed up by my (wonderful) brother-in-law the night before our wedding.
I went to look at more VW Golfs, as i absolutely love them, but my husband made a bee-line for the BMW, and fell in love with ours as soon as he saw it. It was £5400 second hand, and had a low mileage, and only one previous owner.
When he brought the car home, as always, first thing is to drive around aimlessly commenting on how ace ... ...'round' cars. It came with BMW alloys and body coloured bumpers & side skirts, which are closer to the ground than they look - we figured that out the first time we went over a speed bump! The car has a tinted windows, and there is no frame on the front windows, so when you open the door with the windows open, there's nothing there! It looks really weird, like you'd expect from a convertible.
Interior - It has a kinda blue/grey material, very spacious. ...
