The BMW 318i is to be fair what some may call the bottom of the range for a BMW.
It has no flash features, no sun roof, no CD player, no air conditioning and non of the 101 features that come free with a Ford or Vauxall. And with its price edging towards the 20 grand mark you must get something for your money?
The answer is that all you are buying is the car, but what a car! Any one who has driven a BMW will know that the car oozes handling ability. With Rear wheel drive and a sporty 1.8 injection engine the 318 is truly a driving experience.
What it lacks in added features it more than makes up for in performance, handling and style. And the style is definatly there, a BMW even if it is at the lower end of the scale is still a BMW and attracts the eye and attention.
The poseur element of this car however is not the reason it appealed to me, the drive is excellent, the engine expertly tuned and the car is an absolute pleasure to drive.
And there is more as a company car driver this cars low emissions and smaller engines keep the Total Cost of Ownership down. This car is a great one and if you have the choice I would choose a basic BMW over all the features in the world!

Not bad intro, but info on what the car has to offer would have resulted in a higher rating (eg comfort, ride, equipment, insurance costs etc.). If you ever redo this op, please let me know and I'll reread it and review my rating :)

I like this op, its personal. I rated it VH cos of this, but I would say that if you were to talk more about driving the car for eg: how the car shifts, the handling, many more would rate this VH! Chunka!
Advantages: Power, economy, style, reliability, boot size and access. Disadvantages: Slightly difficult to handle in the wet, slightly cramped in the rear seats.
