Advantages: Fast, silky engine, good looks. Disadvantages: Expensive to buy, boot could be bigger
I have a 52 plate 330CI which I have had from new. It's approaching it's 7th birthday, and in my opinion is a supurb machine. There was a few nigging faults when it was new, with the windows, quite a common problem, and the central locking has a fit every now and again. It has been through a couple of coil packs too, but they are quite cheap to replace.
Enough of the negative points, this car drives like a dream, fast, and responsive when you want. Plenty fast enough to have your partner shouting in your ear to slow down, when you see some open road, but a quiet comfortable cruiser on long motorway runs. It is pretty fuel efficient too. I often get mid 30's MPG on the motorway, and mid 20's around town. Lets not forget this is a 3 litre in-line 6 cylinder engine with 231 BHP and 300 NM torque, so if you are heavy with your ...

Advantages: One word, German. Disadvantages: Thirsty and not for the faint hearted, also, damned expensive!!!!!!
Agile, powerful and refined, the BMW 3 Series Coupe is an irresistible blend of pure excitement and sophisticated technology. Its powerful engine and superbly balanced chassis deliver a driving experience that will make any other on the road car seem small and insignificant. The main reason why I bought this car was because I wanted something that would be reliable. Something that would last, and that I could pass on to future generations of my family.
I drove all 6 versions of the 3 Series coupe (318Ci, 320Ci, 320Cd, 325Ci, 330Ci, 330Cd) The 330Ci seemed to me to be the best buy because of its reliability, smooth ride, handling and pure power. Second to the 330Ci were the 318Ci and then the 325Ci.
Ok, admittedly I have only had this car for a year, but so far I have found no problems, and the car just seems to be getting better ...

Advantages: its amazing Disadvantages: you spend to much time in it
I have just purcahsed a BMW330i sport M-tech and its awesome.
First the outside subtle sports detailing mean you stand out from the crowd and there are plenty of 3 series beemers around these days. If you want second takes then this is the model for you. Mine is a 2002 in silver.
Once you get over the gorgeous flared arches and the simple boot spoiler coupled with the agressive looking fornt you open the door. With the M-tech you step over the M badged door sill protectors and jump into gorgeous black leather sports seats. The door closes with and executive rasp as the air is squashed.
Once aboard you feel like you are in control the cockpit design means everything is aimed at pleasing one person, the driver. The finish is impecable with carbon fibre everywhere and simple delecate touches.
A twist of the key fires the 3Ltr ...
