Nothing more than an elevated estate
Advantages: The Badge, Resale Value, Disadvantages: Diesel engine is a little coarse
...to think about it, the BMW X3 diesel hasn't alot going for it.
The interior for a start is cheap. The quality of the plastics and the trim do not suggest to me that I have just spent €60,000 (bought in Ireland) on a car. The cabin is tiny, the leg room reminded me of a Ryanair/Easyjet flight, the boot (for what it is meant to be) is tiny. On the upside, the seats are very supportive, especially on long journeys, the stereo is superb and the overall ... ...summerise, if you have (or can get your hands on) €60,000, I suggest you don't consider buying this car and either (1) if you have badge issues, get a regular BMW or Mercedes or AUDI estate, or (2) save your money and get something like a Passat or an Octavia. ...

The rule breaker from BMW
Advantages: Good handling, solid interiors Disadvantages: Hefty monthly payments
The BMW X3 is a capable, compact SUV...the X3 is propelled by 3.0L straight 6, that produces 260 hp, inline with its competitors. The X3 starts at a base price of £30K, but by the time you've upgraded with core options like premium and sport packages, navigation, premium sound, xenon lights, active steering your looking at closer to £40K. Maybe its me but £ 40K for a compact SUV..hmmmm BMW get real ! No wonder BMW isn't selling alot of these. I found ... ...but predictably BMW. Handling on the X3 is above average, a touch sporty, but not exactly performance orientated. The X3 interior is where you begin to feel like your driving a BMW. As I expected everything is solid. The sound system is top of the line, and controls feel expensive and durable. The heating was comfortable. I would enjoy driving the X3 on a daily basis, if it were not for the "hefty" monthly payments. My take on the X3 is that it is ...

BMW 116i M Sport - Over priced and very bumby.
Advantages: BMW holds it's price, great sexy bodywork. Disadvantages: Fuel consumption, not enough power in the 116i
I currently have a 116i M Sport. It is a lovely car to look at and usually a lovely car to drive on the A roads or motor ways. I find it can be a bit sluggish to pull away but can more than hold it's own on the open roads. This model sits 1.5mm lower than the others due to the M Sport suspension. This coupled with the run flat tyres results in a very bumpy and uncomfortable ride. Make no mistakes, this is not an ideal car for someone already suffering ... ...3 years from new and love it to pieces but i won't hide the bad points just because i love the car. Enough room in the back for a child seat and a small push chair will fit in the boot. 31.3mpg on a petrol engine is about average for motor ways and about 26.1mpg on local roads. Fuel tank holds 53ltrs so you're looking at near £60 at the pumps based on £1.08 per ltr.
Would i buy it again knowing what i know now, yes i would. I still maintain, it's ...
