Wife has driven a 1997 Z3 1.9 since 2000
Advantages: Great gas mileage fun fast sleek built to last Disadvantages: Only people shorter than six foot tall can enjoy it. If you are taller it is not built for you.
In 2000 we bought the female neighbor's car for $13,500, the same as the dealer would give her for a trade in. It had 40,000 miles on it then, now it has 150,000. For five years the maintenance was oil changes and a brake job. For the next 4 it has cost me $1000-1500 a year, in the shop, for one thing or another. Catalytic converter one time, oxygen sensor, belts and hoses etc. another time, new clutch, electric window and door interior reinforcement ... ...Small stuff that could have destroyed the car if left unrepaired. Luckily we had the funds to repair them and the car looks almost new and runs like a top after 12 years. It is a woman or shorter man's car. I have to crawl in head first and can barely drive it with the top up, with the top down I can't see the light at intersections because the windshield is in the way. I can't see if my blinker is on either because the steering wheel blocks my vision. ...

The BMW Z4 Ceases to Amaze
Advantages: Good looks, comfortable, fast, and pretty Disadvantages: small, not a family vehicle
...for you. I personally think BMW has a great line of cars in general, and this is one of my any many of my friends favorites. I'll put it this way, if i could afford a BMW this would be the one to get. Compact, powerful, and comfortable. Although this car is not for a family of four it is comfortable and satisfying. Nothing can slow down this 6 speed convertible with simple german engineering. This car is Everything i would look for. Hope this review ...

BMW Z4 2.2i ROADSTER
Advantages: AMAZING DRIVE EXPERIENCE, LOOKS GOOD Disadvantages: SLUGISH, JUICY, NOT A LOT OF ROOM
The Z4 looks some like a Hammer Head shark and is the more masculine version on the Z3. The driving experience is amazing and one that depends your full attention as the Z4 is a very twitchy ride and it's easy to have the back end out. So it's definitely not for the faint hearted. From personal experience I found the Z4 2.2 very slow and very juicy. The Z4 2.2 is 150 hp, with a 0.62 in a slow 8.2 seconds and 38.2 mpg. I would definetly recommend ...

Mini Supercar
Advantages: Incredibly Rapid, Awesome drive, Can get the dog in the back Disadvantages: Small tank so fill up constantly, its got 2 seats so the wife can come too!
I've had one for 3 years now and it's the best thing ive ever been in, I always get out of it with a big grin on my face! I did the cannonball8000 in it in 2006 and after 4 full days thrashing across europe you get out almost as fresh as when you got in, something our friends in the Nobel couldnt say, brilliant car! Don't know what the last guy was going on about, saying that the "makers claim it's a comfortable 4 seater", he's obviously never seen ... ...only a 2 seater! I got mine after spending ages looking at lots of cars to do the rally in and i kept coming back to the BMW. It truly is a mini supercar! it's incredibly fast, handles.....well, it's very good in the dry but the wet weather really brings it to life. It can be a handful at first, the early cars not having traction control and 321 BHP through those rear wheels is great fun once you've gotten used to driving it. It can suffer with VANOS ...

The Tiddler!
Advantages: All the looks and style of it's bigger engined brothers but at a lesser cost Disadvantages: It can keep up with the 3.0L in town but not outside of town
The 2.2 BMW Z4 is a dream to own and drive. Having been privileged to own one for just under a year from new I can definitely recommend this car!
Plus points
It's a beautifully designed car with an unusual mixuture of smooth curves on the front and wings with that lovely angular rear end!
There aren't a huge number of them on the roads so if you're looking for exclusivity in this price bracket you've reached it. The interior trim is modernist ... ...centre pop up device from BMW than with a portable sat nav unit such as a Garmin or TomTom. If price is important then go for the portable. As for the performance of the car, I have to admit to seeing the DSC light beam up a number of times, mainly in the wet on corners and rounabouts, but on the whole the car does 'OK' in the wet. No better or worse than any other rear wheel drive car. In the dry though, it sticks to the road like a baby's poo does ...
