Advantages: Comfortable Super-Car, with good re-sale Disadvantages: Errrrr,...., ummmm. Servicing?
...build quality is miles better than its M3 counterpart, much less noise, more room, and same performance give-or-take 0.2 seconds.
BMW servicing generally good - they'll even give you a car for the day. Alternately, go buy a nice new Mondeo ST24 **NOT**.
5 seats, big boot, air + leather, fully electric everything... 0-60 in around 5-6 seconds. 175mph.
You can drive 900 miles to the south of france with five passengers in comfort (With baggage), or go take it around a track and scare yourself silly.
Fuel economy 23.5mpg driven hard, or 33.5mpg on a motorway run at around 80mph.
Dis-advantages
eeerrr...? Oh, yes. Servicing is a little heavy on M cars - no 4 year discount. And one other thing - In the wet, either put Bridgestone Potenza S-02 tyres on it, or 'up' your life insurance (Back end is a delight if you like to be naughty around roundabouts). Apparently, also dont put Mobil 1 oil in it - its 'too thin' - debatable though... (I use Helix Ultra, its a bit thicker) I've had mine two years, and spent probably on average £1500 / year maintenance.
Why I bought this product?
Go test drive a second hand one - find out. The build quality is miles better than its M3 counterpart, much less noise, more room, and same performance give-or-take 0.2 seconds. BMW servicing generally good - they'll even give you a car for the day. Alternately, go buy a nice new Mondeo ST24 **NOT**.
Advantages: There is no car that comes as close to perfection Disadvantages: I couldn't even come close to affording it
BMW, a name eternally connected with, sporty refinement, class, image and the slightly less glamorous adjectives such as reliable and well built. The 5-Series has been around for a couple of years now and has become a permanent fixture in company car parks and suburban driveways. The economical man goes for the diesel, the dull man goes for the 520, but the smart man goes for the best, the M5. No, not an English motorway, but the original and best ... ...a car more perfect than the M5, but I would love so much to make driving such a beast a daily occurrence. M5 owners must invent reasons for driving ("We only have 3 bottles of milk left love, I’ll run down the shops in the car for more"). Nothing surpasses this package. It is technically far superior to any other competitor (there is no Merc E-Class AMG). Maybe I've lived a sheltered life, but my one drive of that car on the Donegal roads is one ...

Quick review of BMW M5
Please if you have £65K-£70K to spend on a car, buy this beast. The price tag may put you off but it is one of the best cars i have ever driven. In my time i have experienced aston martins, porsche carreras and bentleys but this tops the list for luxury, power and just raw speed on the road. You can drive it as a luxury car for cruising around the city if you want to be calm, but if you want to be wild, drive this with your foot down with the M power button on and then you will realist that other cars are nothing. THIS IS A BEAST!!! ...

Advantages: Performance, looks, space Disadvantages: ummmmm......... oh yes, it's a wee bit expensive
The BMW M5 is the fastest four door saloon on the planet. 0-62 in 5.2seconds and a top speed of 183mph (provided the limiter is removed. But there won't be any need for that in law obiding Britain is there?). Being a saloon, it has space for four and their luggage and they all can sit in wondefuly comfortable leather seats. The front ones are fully electrictronicly adjustable, so after a long drive using the sattilite navigation, you can recline ... ...Reliability is not an issue as suprime German engineering is well known for it's ability to keep going whatever the case may be.
I could talk about how the 400bhp V8 has oil pumps to keep the oil flowing around the engine during a tight courner, or that at full revs, there is enough water flowing around the cooling system to fill your bathin twenty seconds. And that it can pull nearly 2g in a bend, but I won't, because it would be wondering off ...

Advantages: power, sound, looks, speed, Disadvantages: love of fuel
I have owned my black m5 now for six months and it still brings a smile to my face when I drive it. The car has a 4995cc engine producing 507 horsepower. On the road the M5 can’t be beaten, when you floor the accelerator there is no delay, just constant power and an amazing soundtrack. My partner and I took the M5 to Germany to have a heritage engine upgrade witch took the top speed limiter off well worth doing. The interior is bland compared ...

The BMWM3 3.2 Evolution E36 is one of the best M3's - in fact - they are all good - all have the best BMW engines, and the best performance - under 7.5 seconds 0-60! Yes please.
The BMWM3 range has always been admired - been critically accliamed and it's clear to see why - with brilliant performance and awesome looks - these really are the finest and most sought after 3 series BMWs about. But at £30,000 + it could be argued that they are expensive! Ha! They are worth every penny I am sure. Get a car like this if you have the money - BMW know how to make cars. ...

Advantages: Power and torque Disadvantages: Styling, handling and diesel rattle
intriguing. In a way it makes me a better driver. Because of its height it shouldn’t be pushed into corners, if I were to be involved in an accident it would be the other person who comes off a whole lot worse. The responsibility added in driving a machine likes this increases your awareness of your own limits and of other road users.
I have driven the Terrano in its natural environment, but in a large town I doubt if it would really feel at home. There are no motorways in Donegal, but it certainly wouldn’t feel at home there. This is a farmer-mobile, a machine for the country dweller, not the school run mum. I enjoy driving this monster in its natural environment, but having followed the same road in a BMWM5 I know which monster I’d rather live with. Off-roaders are a novelty to me; it is the saloon that captures my ...
Advantages: Refined motorway cruiser with bags of equipment Disadvantages: Dull looks, inferior to 5-Series
You may have noticed that Mercedes has been ‘jazzing’ up its image in recent times, firstly with the exquisite S-Class and the stylish C-Class and Sport Coupe. Well one car that hasn’t caught up with the Merc revolution is the machine that is reviewed here. Mercedes may have beaten BMW’s 7 and 3 Series hands down but it is a few miles back down the road with it’s M and E Class cars.
That’s not to say that the E isn’t a good car, because it is a superb car. The problem is that the BMW5 Series is so much better in every way. It is better looking, better handling, more enjoyable to drive, better equipment et cetera. The Audi A6 may even have the better of the E Class, certainly in terms of styling, although I have never driven a variant of the Audi.
But back to the main focus of this ...
