~INTRO~
The BMW X5 is a good looking car, that will make you look good in front of friend and so on. It has all the things that you would expect from a luxury car, such as: CD player, alarm, automatic gearbox, and a LOT of power behind the stearing wheel.

~GOOD POINTS~
It looks really good and I mean REALLY good, the best colour to get it in by far has to be Blue though. It has lots of features like in the list I wrote in the intro.
It is comfortable enough to ride, which is what you expect from a car that costs £35,000.
The power that you get from it is amazing, considering that it is a 4x4, it has 350 pounds of horse power, and it will do a top speed of about 3700 rpm.
The automatic gear box (which can also be changed to manual if you want to by just pushing the gear stick to the left) is a grate addition to the X5.

~BAD POINTS~
For the first two years that you have the car every thing is fie and you will think that is a brilliant car, this may be because the warrant pays for all the damage done to it so you are not shelling out for repairs, but it may be a good thing to think about what will happen after the warrant runs out. After the first year of having the car we had to have 8 repairs done to it, first the wing mirror fell of on the first day we had, then the engine management system broke down and the car was doing about 1 mile to the gallon which wasn't exactly economical. This was all fine because of the warranty, but this was when it was new, and what would happen after that?
Also the car drinks petrol, on average it cost £80 to fill it up, this was before the petrol prices took their massive increase. It averaged about 20-25 miles to the gallon which meant we ended up filling the thing up every week, this is evidently not economical.
Another point that is not necessarily the cars fault is that when you are in it the amount of abuse that is thrown at you is amazing people act so aggressively towards you it is unbelievable.
And if you are thinking of taking it of road then forget about it because it is terrible possibly the worst out of all the SUV's .It slides around and will not go up a hill for love or money.

~CONCLUSION~
When you buying the X5 you are paying £35,000 for a car that really only rates as average, and this is not really a good idea agreed? If you are thinking of buying this car to go of road DON'T. If you are rich enough to buy this car and are buying it just to make yourself look good and actually you use a smaller car better then DON'T buy it your polluting the atmosphere!

Thank you for reading this and if you have any comment's please don't hesitate I could use the feed back it is only fourth op.

Good review. I test drove a used one at my local BMW garage and the wing mirror had been replaced. The seats also needed fixing as they were loose. A bit of a rattle bucket as a used car....did not buy.

I am one of the many who shout abuse at BMW drivers, which is perhaps foolish, as you drug dealers are a scary lot. I spent 14 years in the motor trade and have known for a long time BMW's aren't as good as everyone says. But its hard to get the car buying public to understand that. I also spend alot of time driving off road and get a little cheesed off with the growing trend for big off roaders that will never go off road. I do understand that people like big off roaders because of the excellent driving position, the good visability and the fact you can get loads of kids and groceries in them. But as an alternative, all you suburban off road drivers should perhaps buy a vehicle more suited to you needs, and alot cheaper.. such as a mini-bus. The Ford Transit mini-bus does everything your BMW X5 does for a fraction of the price. Its probably better off road aswell.
