what can i say about the X5. well first of all the car is a truely amazing ride. it has heated seats, back adjustment on the seats and many other extras. withthe arrival of the 4.8 this spring, the bmw x5 is going to be the best selling car this year. i cannot wait till i pass my driving test and get this car. it has ABS braking system, hill decent control, tv, GPS Sat Nav, a ps2 in the back with optional dvd player (in my opinion go with the ps2 instead of the dvd player as you can play dvds on the ps2). it also has built in memory so you can store such things as temperature in the car, when to start de icing the windows ( useful in winter), and it also has an anti-hotwiring proof immobiliser. thats just as standard think about the optionals. the car itself takes approx 2 weeks to make. if you buy it new from a car dealer and you dont want the one on show, what they do is they ask you questions about the x5 you want like what extras u want on it. they then send this to the nearest bmw factory and they make the car according to youe specifications. this takes 2 weeks and then the car showroom tell you your car is ready and come and take it. i am not sure if you have to pay for it before they send the deatils or after you have the car. the CO2 emissions on this car are quite a lot. the 4.4i release 170g/km but this is reduced in the 3.0i (100g/km).

I find it hard to believe that you haven't passed your test yet you plan to buy this car - isn;t the cost of it a problem? Also, it's a bit difficult to review a car that you have not driven isn't it? Still, you have described it well and good luck with your test when you take it.

the heated seats fuse box is waterproof so it wont blow, how will you manage to splatter the interior with mud, the hill descent control had benn tried and tested and it is fail proof, the tyres that come as standard are not the best tyres for the x5 but the best ones are available at 4 for £60 which is really cheap, the x5 isnt classed as an official off roader but it can be driven off road but dont expect the same performance as a jeep. the ps2/dvd options come with a 5 year guarantee and whos gonna sit in a car for 12 hours playing games and watching DVDs. thanks for the points anyway

A couple of things niggle me about this car, 1) the heated seats will blow a fuse when you are driving though rivers. 2) When the interior gets splattered with mud you can't see the GPS readout. 3) Don't rely on the hill desent they can fail. 4) You will need to change the standard tyres for proper off road tyres otherwise you will get bogged down and look like a real fool when an H reg Suzuki Jeep out performs you whilst off road driving. I presume you'll be driving off road every weekend or else you wouldn't be buying an off roader.
Actually, on a genuine note, prolonged playing of DVD's on a PS2 WILL cause the laser to burn out. Games are fine, but DVD's .... not a good idea. I'm not being a smart arse... my brother works for Sony UK.
