Managed to do a deal on my 330ci Convertable for what I can only describe as a volcano on wheels...the 4.6is with its 350 BHP and masses of torque will give you whip lash when you accelerate hard, will stop on a sixpence and also behave like a kitten, never have i experienced such extremes in a car. It has got every toy you can imagine, sat nav, TV, bluetooth, DVD, etc etc etc.
I thought the insurance costs would be high but not too bad 550.00 fully comp with full no claims, not bad concidering it cost 68k when new (i bought it second hand not won the lottery yet) Though just heard on the news £ 400.00 road tax,,,owch.
Plus points - feeling safe, stylish, powerful, build quality, gadgets.
Minus points - You need a fuel tanker behind you, it costs £ 90.00 to fill the tank form empty, the sat nav voice tends to repeat things and gets on your nerves a bit, and thats about it, i cant think of anything else, oops nearly forgot, its not very enviromentally friendly.

Just returned from a 450 mile round trip and it never missed a beat, and the fuel computer states that the average consumption was 24.7 mpg, now that is fairly good considering the size of the thing and its V8 engine.

The Bmw X5 comes in many varients from the standard 3 litre petrol engine to the ultimate in power 4.6is.
The 4.6 is direct competition for the ML55. Which produces exactly the same amount of brake horse power even though the Mercedes has 0.9 of extra displacement(347 bhp). The 4.6 has a an extra 221cc over the 4.4i, an extra 61bhp, more torque, bigger brakes and 20in wheels. Dont let its large weight decieve you as it hits 62mph in 6.5secs and ... ...people it can be unlocked to speeds on 180+. The 4.6 is attractive and capable. It's at home on the motorway and handles more like a sports saloon than a large 4.6 which makes it more appealing to to a larger market. It comes with reprogrammed Steptronic transmission for sportier shifting, DSC III stability control, wider flared arches and revised front and rear aerodynamics. However its running costs are high as In town, the trip computer indicates ...

Advantages: Low cost fuel, cleaner engine, cheaper tax Disadvantages: None so far
I purchased a BMWX54.46 months ago and had the conversion done a week later. The conversion was priced at £2300, whilst it was the most expensive quote I had been given, the person came with a glowing referal so I went ahead.
A doughnut shaped tank which holds 60 litres of gas was fitted, this replaced my spare wheel, (A punctur kit from BMW £70 needed) the only other change to my car was the suspension pump had to be moved to allow the fitting (no visible change inside or out) this is an X5 issue only.
Since having it fitted I have only encountered one problem - the car cut out on me without warning - the fitter traced it down to a faulty injector and I havent had issues since.
I am paying 50.9 pence per litre and have the choice of 3 stations with 3 miles (one being a Morrisons - save the points and you soon rack up the credits ...
Advantages: its fast, Comfortable and Absolutely gorgeous worths every penny Disadvantages: its expensive and uses a lot of fuel
The BMWX54.8is is a absolute monster, it has 360 bhp it goes from 0 - 60 in 6.1 sec and has a top speed at 153 miles. The numbers speaks for it self. this is a 4 wheel drive which mean you can you can drive nearly any where with this vehicle This is the best car I have ever driven. What I did was to put new seats in, which looks really cool to the blue colour I have chosen for the car, but that's just one of the many extras which you can purchase. Another really good thing about the BMW is the navigation system which is superb. I have just driven from Great Britain to Spain and not once have the negation system been wrong, which of cause shouldn't happened anyway but it have happened for me before. of cause this is a extra but if you have to go places you dont know i high recomendt it. As I said earlier I drove this car to Spain ...
