The subtle but meaningful M Power logo dotted around the car just reminds the driver of its pedigree breed, and racing heritage. Some may argue its styling is a little quirky and tasteless, and others will genuinely fall in love with it, but we all know beauty is only skin deep and the M-Coupé has more under the bonnet.

Fuel economy is surprisingly good for an engine of this size when driving sensibly, but this all goes out the window when you want to have some serious playtime.

The 3.2 litre 24 valve powerhouse puts out a very impressive 321BHP and with 258lb/ft of torque with its twin vanos system, this engine certainly has ample power for even the most enthusiastic driver. Once over 4000RPM the engine really starts to sing and come to life, the whole car takes on a different attitude and eagerly awaits a good thrashing. The ride is comfortable and forgiving but requires precise and well thought input to keep it on the road under heavy acceleration, the Dynamic Stability Control helps but once off, it really deserves full attention.
Driving around town isn't difficult but some people might find the clutch a little heavy, with its 258 lb/ft of torque it rolls everywhere and you'll be hard pushed to stall it. Rides on the motorway are effortless and easy with little or no gear change needed at all. There aren't any big issues the M-Coupé but its not perfect, like for example the positioning of the mirrors and minimal amount of rear view space. I'm not sure what happened to the BMW design team when it came to the mirrors, but they are very awkward and offer little viewing capability from behind. Another issue is the amount of passenger space, although BMW claim you can sit four people its probably safe to say your odds and ends will only find sufficient space in the rear, but who care's its a Coupe. Finally parts on any BMW M car are pricey and you tend to really pay for the exclusiveness of owning such a car, then actually paying for the goods them self. But fear not as BMW are renown for being reliable cars, and if well serviced and maintained can literally last a life time.
Overall, this car is brilliant and you'll soon find yourself smiling unknowingly as you realize you just exceeded the speed limit in less then 6 seconds. Although the majority of people will probably see it as a regular BMW, those who know of its true M colors will not put up a fuss. The price for a good used M-Coupé starts from about £12,000 some might be cheaper, but these cars are rare and will certainly be worth a penny or two in a few years time, much like the E30 M3. Also be aware that this is not a regular BMW and requires specialist attention from a BMW dealer, which can often be quite pricey. I would recommend this car to anyone who wants alot of fun for a reasonable price, but its a serious bit of kit and with anything as lethal as the M-Coupé, it requires a committed and experienced owner.
Advantages: Looks Amazing, handles well and absolute power Disadvantages: Practicality, Dampness
My rating of this car satisfactory does not reflect on the cars performance which is awesome, but more with the cars practicality as an every day use vehicle especially the convertible if you do buy this car make sure you have a garage as the car becomes damp inside and condensation builds easily my eletcric windows also stick but if its a second car not for every day use go for it because its alot of fun I cant believe im speaking lowly of the car ...

Advantages: Incredibly Rapid, Awesome drive, Can get the dog in the back Disadvantages: Small tank so fill up constantly, its got 2 seats so the wife can come too!
I've had one for 3 years now and it's the best thing ive ever been in, I always get out of it with a big grin on my face! I did the cannonball8000 in it in 2006 and after 4 full days thrashing across europe you get out almost as fresh as when you got in, something our friends in the Nobel couldnt say, brilliant car! Don't know what the last guy was going on about, saying that the "makers claim it's a comfortable 4 seater", he's obviously never seen ... ...only a 2 seater! I got mine after spending ages looking at lots of cars to do the rally in and i kept coming back to the BMW. It truly is a mini supercar! it's incredibly fast, handles.....well, it's very good in the dry but the wet weather really brings it to life. It can be a handful at first, the early cars not having traction control and 321 BHP through those rear wheels is great fun once you've gotten used to driving it. It can suffer with VANOS ...

Advantages: Great looks, Brilliant driving experience. Disadvantages: Poor practicality, Electric power steering feels a bit light until you get used to it.
Dynamically the Z4 is almost too good - the grip reserves are so high that it requires serious velocities to really wake the chassis up. Standard traction control keeps everything in line, but with this turned off you need to be quick and accurate to catch the Z4 when it does start to slide.
You can choose between five different engines with the roadster. All are petrol, and even the most basic 2.0 litre version gives strong performance - although the smooth-revving, zingy 3 litre is the pick of the bunch. At the top of the range the M-Coupe and M-Roadster are fast but expensive for what they offer.
The BMWZ4 3.0i SE Roadster is simply the pick of the bunch, thumbs up to BMW. ...
