In 2000 we bought the female neighbor's car for $13,500, the same as the dealer would give her for a trade in. It had 40,000 miles on it then, now it has 150,000. For five years the maintenance was oil changes and a brake job. For the next 4 it has cost me $1000-1500 a year, in the shop, for one thing or another. Catalytic converter one time, oxygen sensor, belts and hoses etc. another time, new clutch, electric window and door interior reinforcement repair, new radiator and a few oil leaks fixed etc. Small stuff that could have destroyed the car if left unrepaired. Luckily we had the funds to repair them and the car looks almost new and runs like a top after 12 years. It is a woman or shorter man's car. I have to crawl in head first and can barely drive it with the top up, with the top down I can't see the light at intersections because the windshield is in the way. I can't see if my blinker is on either because the steering wheel blocks my vision. It is a great piece of machinery, if you maintain it, but it is for a person no taller than 5'11" maximum. Taller people can drive it, but it will be cramped misery instead of fun.
