I have had a number of dealings with Scotthall Cambridge BMW. Before I purchased my latest BMW, a330iSport, I asked them to quote me a price. They were more expensive than another dealer. When I told the salesman I could get the same car from another UK BMW dealer for £1000 less he asked me why I had wasted his time asking for a quote in the first place and admitted Scotthall was not the cheapest BMW dealer. I decided to go with the other dealer, pay less for the same car and dealt with a salesman who was polite and interested in selling me a car.
Accepting that the service department might be better I took my car to Scotthall Cambridge for it’s first service. I took a ‘while you wait’ slot and from previous BMW dealers expected it to take about 45 minutes. After 40 minutes I wandered out to the car park to look at the second hand BMWs only to see that my car had not moved. I question the service staff who assured me the car would be next. After two hours they finally finished with my car. While complaining to one member of staff another said “you’re not the only person waiting to get their car back”.
Finally I went to Scotthall Cambridge to replace the BMW brush I use to clean my alloy wheels. They told me the only brush sold by BMW was a £20 set and did not recognise my description of my old brush. I went to another BMW dealer who sold me an exact copy of my old BMW brush for under £4. I went back to Scotthall and asked if they could get this cheaper brush. They admitted they could but said their policy was to sell the more expensive version. I already have the more expensive brush and find the cheaper one is better even if it does break after a couple of years.
In summary the sales, service and parts departments of Scotthall Cambridge BMW do not match the level of service I have received from other BMW dealers and they charge more!

Well, to be honest, its exactly the same where I live, the BMW sales people are so smug, pedantic and arrogant, that they do not deserve any sales at all......Sadly, people flock there all the time, and accept it, just to get their hands on a " beamer "......sad really........Roy.....

I've experienced Scotthall in much the same way. They are arrogant and rude. Good op.
Advantages: Some pretty cars to look at in the showroom Disadvantages: Poor after-sales, the ability to 'create' problems with your car (then refuse to accept liabilty)
